    That's pretty much where I'm at. It'd be a make-good contract anyway. Lots of potential, but a bad situation. Could be worth a look. Worst case scenario, it's one year and you drop him.

    Not saying I'd want this to happen, but would anyone be open to trading for Melo? I don't mean like gutting the team for him, but more of they just want to get rid of him. So hypothetical like a Clarkson, Black, Brewer, etc.

    No. I don't want to trade for anyone nearing the end of their prime. I know he's putting in a ton of work (I see his workout posts on twitter and Instagram) but if I ever do want him on the Lakers it has to come via a signing and even then I think there is better options.

    outside the box: could the lakers get teodosic to sign a 2-year, big money deal with a team option on year 2?

    i'd love that kind of use of cap space.
