My question is: why the f*** would he want to join that mess? :D

I mean he could go almost anywhere he wants, why Houston? To join a team that's a mess?

I won't touch the Kyrie/Step thing, but I will note this. D'Angelo Russell's April was every bit as impressive as Kyrie's anything. 24.2 points, 6.0 assists, 6.4 rebounds, shot 46.3% FGs, 48.8% 3s, and 92.9% FTs. That's the player he's moving toward becoming.

I think it's not a huge deal because the numbers aren't that big so they figure might as well throw him the QO just to be safe on a decent backup PG.

But I do see your point about not being confident in their max slot. Either we have no one coming or the world will be shocked in about a week because the media narrative thus far is nobody wants the Lakers' money. :D Which is just astounding since taking the Lakers money has been a negotiating tactic for agents for decades.

Any long term Jimmy watchers care to venture a theory why he would want to play with James Harden? Are you kidding me. Look what just happened with CP2.

Right. And when you’re talking about handing him a max deal for several years that matters.

Russell can ball and he is only gonna get better. With Lebron and AD taking a crap load of attention, he will have open 3s in buckets.

The one big thing for me between Kyrie and DLo is that one has delivered in the moment and proven he can do it, the other hasn't yet. Do you know how bright the lights are going to be in LA starting from Game 1? The team is the favorite to win, has LeBron James and Anthony Davis now. The expectations are championship or bust. While DLo is more affordable, idk if I trust it yet.

And then there's this. If the Lakers bring DAR back you know he's not coming alone. @trodgers is coming too. Screw Butler. Rather have DAR, additional Talent and Travis back.

    Hate to see it...

You would think players would want to come to a team (even via S&t) that had a team player like Pj Tucker on it.

It could be just to cover our a** in case things go side ways in free agency. Max guy commits and we start renouncing. But with Rob's tampering past, it would be so relieving if we started renouncing all our holds asap ... Which means f*** a contingency, we got a max guy in the bag.

Don't think Gasol would have made that much over 2 years, let alone 1.

Could mean Kawhi is staying, could not.

Maybe we're trying to play it straight like we're not tampering this time. :D

I'd allow it just to see Butler eventually punching CP3 in the face.

Proper analysis by someone reporting on the Lakers

Headline on ESPN tomorrow..."Lakers offer Caruso qualifying offer, now only have 15 million in cap space"

    Per Shams:

First, this validates the self-absorbed Arye kid...yuck.

Second, if we use our remaining cap for DLo...the FO suck.

    Third, no Kawhi....canuck.

    Last...

    ...f***

Fyi: Kuz & his moms had it first.
