    I like it better than other things I've seen mentioned. He'd get so many pick and rolls with AD. I could get behind this signing. Nice to get another young kid near AD and Kuzma's age as well. And ice water.

    If DLo demands his max, that’s at about $27 million. Would you do that?

    He is technically an all star and still very young, but I just don’t feel like he’s quite ready to be the third guy of our “Big 3” and if we do get him it’ll likely be at the expense of having leftover money for other roleplayers.

    But I mean if the options are:

    1.) Kemba + vet mins
    2.) Russell + vet mins
    3.) Patrick Beverly and Danny Green + vet mins

    ... maybe the DLo option would be the best out of those three for both short term and long term.

    It’s a tough call for me ... and one I don’t want to think about too much because I’m still holding out hope and all aboard the Kawhi hype train.

    or butler and vet mins. The problem is that he’s going on 30 years old. Dlo is only 22. I’m seriously considering Dlo at $27 mil if we don’t get Kawhi. Kawhi is the only other max player I want because all the others are closer to 30 years old. Dlo in 4 years after Lebron retires may be hardenesque and our second franchise player next to AD.

    I wouldn’t be upset at Russ for his max if we can’t land Kawhi, Kyrie, or Butler. I actually would take him over Kemba based on price, age, and height. I watched him quite a bit last season, he took his game to the next level. His first playoffs weren’t amazing, but they weren’t horrible either, and again, it was his first playoffs. In the regular season he regularly went on scoring tears and brought the Nets back into games or even won them games.

    I’m also not sure if DLo actually can command his max on the open market. I don’t think 22 million is unrealistic. So if we can still dump the contracts to get to 32, that would leave a good 10 million for another quality role player, and the room exception. That could definitely field a solid team.

    As I said in the Dlo thread, we get Danny Green at maybe 10 and the rest for Dlo but I doubt we get the full 32 without Kawhi committing here. I think the plan is $24 cap retaining the young trio with AD getting his kicker if without the Kawhi or maybe Kyrie commitment.

    If we get DLO, the other guard needs to be a very good defensive player. And then the center would need to be primarily a defensive big as well.

    11. Kemba --- not really a consideration because I wouldn't give him the max

    Slight bias for perimeter players because we have none (ie Dlo > Vuc)
    I also prefer younger players in the same age bracket as AD/Kuzma.

    For me It all depends on the cost. I wouldn’t want to give him a max slot.. or even close to it. However, I think it’s a moot point as I think that someone will give him the max or close to it.

    Assuming we miss out on kawhi/Kyrie, I’d rather sign Collison, green/ariza, Brook Lopez—— depending on how much we have in cap space.

    Kemba is good, but we’d run into issues in the playoffs with his size to account for.
