    Max?! How?

This is why I don't think they'll be a middle tier for us and a big reason I want that 3rd max. Much rather have 9 ring chasers and a few 2nd rounders/ undrafted guys than drastically overpay.

And hell yes to Kutcher. Much rather have him for the minimum than whatever JJ will go for.

Someone is gonna pay Middleton the max? Why? If I were the Bucks, I'd let him go and get Horford.

The Lakers have been planning on these moves for at least 2-3 weeks from what I have gathered just reading and listening to reports (getting to the max spot).

They aren't scrambling. You may not like Pelinka or Klutch, but they have been planning this process for awhile.

Both Lopez brother's are Free Agents this offseason, imagine a center rotation of Brook and Robin. Both are local LA guys too, I've seen them frequent Disneyland a few times too, they love it here.

Korver is a deadly shooter though how much he has left in the tank is concerning. Save him for the playoffs I guess. Absolutely see him coming here for the vet min.

We wouldn’t need him for more than 10mpg. Perfect fit for the vet min. I still think we might snag 1 or 2 guys who will take a cheap deal for a year to get the exposure for a bigger payday. That’s why I’m all in on pursuing a max player and filling the rest of the pieces after.

I'd throw the Room Exception at Avery Bradley if he's let go. He'll probably come cheaper than Beverly, but provide similar perimeter defense and decent outside shooting. Could be our Fisher.

    Bradley
    Kawhi
    Lebron/Kuz
    AD
    McGee

if nothing else it would prevent defenders from sagging into the paint n clogging it and doubling AD

Can you imagine the looks he would get and he has a quick release too. He'd feel like a kid at Christmas!

    Avery > Jae Crowder.

I know you're not comparing them; I am just making the comparison because there are people who think we might end up with Korver or Crowder, and I'd rather have Bradley

There's going to be a ton of buyouts I feel....we need to start looking at the bottom feeding teams and seeing who has a year left on their deal and see if we can snag them on the buyout market for vet's min...

Well, Korver can come on the veteran's minimum, we can have an unlimited number of those. Not sure Crowder would do a vet min contract, but we'll see.

Here are all the guys that I think could get bought out as they're on lotto teams and they have 1 year left on their deal:

    Miami:

    Ryan Anderson

    Memphis:

    Avery Bradley
    CJ Miles
    Chandler Parsons

    Washington:

    Ian Mahinmi
    Jabari Parker
    Dwight Howard

    NYK:

    Lance Thomas

    Cleveland:

    Tristan Thompson
    JR Smith
    Brandon Knight

    Charlotte:

    Bismack Biyombo
    Marvin Williams

    Orlando:

    Timofey Mozgov

    Phoenix:

    Tyler Johnson

    ATL:

    Kent Bazemore
    Miles Plumlee
    Alex Len

    Dallas:
    Courtney Lee

There are some GREAT options here for the POTENTIAL buyout market...and I honestly wouldn't rule out Hassan Whiteside and Goran Dragic getting traded and then bought out...IF that happens, I believe both would be prime to join the Lakers on minimum deals.

This is EXACTLY why we need to get that 3rd superstar....we can fill out the roster with all these buyout players on minimum deals....plenty of shooting in this market too

It is my understanding that there is a firm backup plan developing within the front office to build for depth, especially if the key max free agents are not on the table. Bigger names that have been floated include Brook Lopez and Patrick Beverly, but there is no indication of any interest on their end. There will probably be a lot more names to follow. Some internally, as I stated previously, still feel this is the better and lower risk approach.

I wouldn't take the specific names too seriously though, but AEG has been asked in the past to "blow up" lesser known players once they become Lakers. And recently they were asked to prepare for such a scenario, while maintaining focus on LeBron and AD. This won't deter the Lakers from going after the key max free agents, though.

Wouldn't mind either of those guys but I'm not paying Beverley $10m+ like some have suggested....and most I'd give Brook is $12m. Beverley will have to accept somewhere in the $5-7M range...esp since Lou Will accepted a deal at $8M per and Beverley is nowhere close to as good as Lou.

As far as Beverly goes, I wouldn't call it immediate interest, but go peep his Twitter page. Someone tweeted him that the Lakers were interested in him, and he replied with what seemed like some slight interest. The right money might make walk over to the right side of Staples. He's one of the more better fits I would love on this team, if we can even snag him for the Room Exception, that would give the Lakers even more flexibility.
