Not in his prime? hmmmm. He played 35 min and went 27-8-8. I wouldn't say he still isn't in his prime, maybe just Sub-Prime, so to speak.

Oh, I know. He's still incredible. Just a little bit below his prime. Not complaining.

LeBron's prime was when he was last named Regular season MVP, this is his sub prime up to his 40s, The dude has Wilt the Stilt blood in him without the cooties obviously

Also, Kawhi was really appreciative of how well the medical staff in TOR took care of his load management during the regular season. We do pattern the same thing and still not lose much as far as the team on the court with LBJ and AD still playing, taking up the slack if Kawhi needs a night off. Same with LBJ. They just take turns when needed and we do this the right way to make sure we're locked in for the Playoffs.

Real talk though as far as backups or coming off the bench he wouldn't be bad to have at all. A more mature JR Smith

I’d also be copping so much New Balance gear if Kawhi came.

Lakers have had heat winning 20 games a year. Lakers will always have heat. The only thing that matters right now is Banner 18. Banner eff'n 18. Lakers need to get there and get there soon.

Let's get Banner 17 first, though. One step at a time.

If we can’t get Kawhi and Butler signs with philly.

I’d put all 35m into getting as many 3&D players as possible. I’d be pretty happy rolling with a:

    Brogdon/Rondo/Caruso
    Green/Ellington or Curry
    Lebron/Kuz
    AD/Mirotic
    Lopez/Wagner

Lebron has never had that many shooters on his team and it would really open up his driving lanes. Imagine Lebron resting early and coming back on against a second unit, surrounded with a mixture of Brogdon/Green/Ellington or Curry/Mirotic/Lopez

Brogdon is restricted. If he gets 15 million per from someone, Bucks will match. Danny Green would be nice at 10 million but I dont know about Danny Green. Lakers need to go with the big names first and then spread the money if they have too.

I don’t think the Bucks will match. They’re a small market team, and once they max Khris Middleton, they’ll have:

    Gianis: 25.6
    Middleton: 32
    Hill: 18
    Bledsoe: 15.6
    Snell: 11.4
    Ilyasova: 7
Other role players on contract: 10

They’ll be staring at a payroll of 120m without signing Brogdon, Lopez, Mirotic or Teletovic. I’d say we go after Brogdon and Lopez.

Offer Brogdon 15-18m per, Lopez 4-6m for 2 years and then Danny Green 4-6m for 2. Heck try to fit in Seth Curry and Ariza in there too.

Team up those 4 guys with Bron, AD and Kuz. Sign Rondo, Caruso and McGee back.

    Brogdon/Rondo/Caruso
    Green/Seth Curry
    Lebron/Ariza
    AD/Kuzma
    Lopez/McGee/Wagner

Alright, here’s my dilemma/question....does it make more sense to go for the likes of Kemba, Irving, or Jimmy now and then sign whoever OR split the big money for good role players and a good bench?

Because I’m pretty torn now. I mean, I like the idea of Kemba or Jimmy, but then I like the idea of Derrick Favors, JJ Redick, and Patrick Beverley too (which I know seems like stretches) but maybe they quickly say yes to the right offer of a contract.

I still say keep Rondo and KCP and part of me says, why not get Pau as a role player and let him retire a Laker and even go get Dwight, just to give him a redemption story like Boogie, plus I’d think AD and LeBron would be more kind, yet still firm on Dwight in comparison to Kobe.

I don’t think the Lakers have to, nor am I 100% gunning for the likes of Dwight and Pau kind of ideas, but they couldn’t hurt now.

How is anybody talking about any other free agent after these posts???

It's like seeing all that and still talking about our missed chance at George.

The issue is if the Lakers make an offer to Brogdon at 4 year 60 mil, they are stuck until the Bucks match or dont match. Lakers need to go after Kawhi and Jimmy Butler first. Then spread it if those guys sign somewhere else. I am assuming most of these guys who commit within the first few days of free agency.

My wish list goes: 1. Kawhi 2. Kyrie 3. Jimmy Butler 4. Kemba. Let's get one of these 4 top tier guys. I'm not interested in plan B yet.

In my opinion, while splitting the cap space for depth sounds good in theory, I think a lot of the role players we’d want would still command enough money such that really we’d only be able to get 2-3 of them.

Meanwhile if we get another max, I think we’ll find a couple of equally productive veteran role players that would sign for the minimum to round out our bench depth.

Dwight is not a free agent. I wouldn’t be opposed to signing Pau to retire here but only if we have extra roster spots after filling out the depth chart with younger players we can depend on.
