Young big guy I'm pretty sure... I've only seen him once or twice so I don't really know.

The point remains though that they could easily get to an area where they've got Hayward and George as well as some really good pieces, but they'd likely have to gut their interior or make more trades.

they're in great shape...if ainge ever cashes in on his assets. if jimmy butler isn't good enough for your precious draft picks...who is? and you haven't drafted a superstar yet. just top-3 protect your picks if you're that worried about it. but if you keep collecting tatums and smarts and browns, you're going nowhere. they lost half their trade value the second you made the pick.

funny thing is that i think this isn't lost on ainge, so i'm not sure what kind of chess he thinks he's playing.

the pelicans have to want to trade you anthony davis.

The only reason I think he may actually push his chips in this time is because LeBron seems so dead-set on leaving. With LeBron out of the East, the C Bags could have the same sort of cakewalk every year to the Finals. Go get Hayward, go get George, and dominate the East for a good 3-5 years or so.

Are you basically creating ainges pitch to George?..

How do we even know how George feels about Ainge and the boys?

I'm showing Laker fans why Boston is the biggest threat to George's services.

It's important to know the other side of an argument.

Thanks TRD. That's why earlier I thought Boston would go even harder afte PG if Cavs didn't have a shot. Similar sentiments.

Theres no serious threat if George has it in his mind he doesn't want to be in Boston.... For all we know doesnt even like Boston, meh about their current team and helping them. He could have his mind already made up its here and nothing else.

It's like someone being fixated at getting a particular ferrari. Thats what you want and you're eventually gonna get it.

Could be. It's incumbent on George and his agent to make sure that's the case, but hard to argue with success.

I do believe that if there was a shot George might fall in love with another city, his agent would let us know so we could make moves accordingly.

I'm much less worried about the Clippers. There's also a good shot they end up losing Griffin this summer and they're already trying to trade Jordan.

The Nets declined to pick up the offer on KJ McDaniels contract, making him a free agent. I'd LOVE to have this guy spelling Ingram off the bench.

Very good point. Us NOT making the move i think proves we think it's in the bag. If anything thats why George said hes leaving. This is his only next destination could have been said already.

Sucky for the Lakers org. that we have to wait.

if they trade jordan whilst moving a bad contract (crawford or rivers) and let griffin walk, all of a sudden, you're looking at a possible team banana boat situation. or worse. replace melo with george. again, they got jerry west. he's 80. he might be planning on making a splash.

they could actually use jordan as a means to getting george. then find a way to wedge lebron into griffin's vacant slot. i'd have to study the cap a bit more to determine how realistic that is, but i don't think it's impossible. key would be whether paul's cap hold is small enough to be next to george whilst opening up lebron's max alongside the other minimum cap holds.

    it's a fear.

edit: two "whilsts". i'm out for the night.

Unless Griffin, Jordan, Crawford, and Rivers are gone they can't free up that much money. If they dump Jordan somewhere, they still need to get rid of Crawford and Rivers to free up more than one max slot. They have a ton more work to do than we do to free up money for just one max slot.

We'll see. I don't find them concerning in the least.

If we have approx 17 mil in cap space this summer, my preference would be to do a 1 year, 15-17 mil offer for:

    Option A: Jonathan Simmons.
He's a restricted free agent but I doubt Spurs match a 1 year 15 mil offer considering they are trying to shed cap space to chase Chris Paul.
    - I like him because he's a good, athletic wing defender and can be great offensively in transition and as a slasher. I can imagine Lonzo lobbing half court passes go Simmons for a fast break. Simmons also has the size to be able to play and defend both the SG and SF position, adding versatility. His weakness is he isn't a very good 3 point shooter.

Option B: CJ Miles, 1 year 15-17 mil offer.
    - he's basically Nick Young but less of a head case. There's actually a lack of quality 3pt shooters in free agency and CJ may be the second best option after Redick (who I think will get a 15-17 mil offer with multiple years elsewhere). CJ also tries on defense but I would say is only average defensively.

    Rotation/Depth Chart
    Lonzo/Clarkson/Ennis
    Simmons/Hart/Clarkson
    Ingram/Deng/Simmons
    Randle/Nance/Kuzma
    Lopez/Zubac/Bryant

A lot hinges on Lonzo's immediate impact and Ingram/Randle's improvement, but if all things goes well I can see us finishing with a better record than Phoenix, Dallas, Sacramento, Brooklyn, Philly, Orlando, Detroit, NYK, Miami, and Charlotte.

Not good enough to make the playoffs in the West but progress that we go from 27th besy record in the league to at least.... 19 or 20th.

    Projection would be 37 wins

I dont see Simmons or Miles taking 1yr deal even if that inflated (i think simmons could ger 10-15 per on multi yr easily)...i also dont think simmons is good enough of a shooter to play the 2 either

Jonathan Simmons would be a great dice roll IMO. He can get a lot of exposure and have a nice career year to set himself up for a big deal. Nice name drop.

He's definitely not coming to us on a 1 year deal.
