Listening to the Herd today. Here were Colin's predictions of where the 6 big names (who are moving) end up:
    KD-NY
AD-NY. thinks their pick allows the Duke connection and that will be easily marketed for the Pelicans. Also that they don't want to deal with us or anyone in the West.
    Kawhi-Clippers
Kyrie- Nets. that's one a source he trusts has been telling him and that Kyrie will then try to get someone else to join him
Butler- Lakers. He is in LA a lot. Likes it there. Needs to be in a big market to get contracts and endorsements since he doesn't have much longer to milk that resource.
Boogie- Lakers. Won't have a lot of options and we'll be desperate.

    Boogie
    Bron
    Ingram
    Butler
    Ball
    Bench: Kuz and Garland

That's not my first choice, but that's definitely not bad.

i mean, it's not a cataclysm. but it's definitely not worth what we gave up to get here.

I actually have been thinking about this option... If we can get Boogie for around $12 we'd have enough cap to pick up Noel and two decent shooters. Boogie is a floor spacing big and Noel could function as a rim runner and protect the rim.

    Zo/Caruso/Curry
    Bullock/Hart/McLemore
    BI/Hunter
    LBJ/Kuz/Wagner
    Cousins/Noel

Balanced, defensive minded team with toughness inside.

Butler and Boogie feel like the consolation prizes to me, but if we dont have to give anything up to get them both, that's a competitive (not c-ship) team at least.

    Small update:
Kobe and LeBron are both pitching Kyrie. Kobe was asked by Pelinka to do it, so he's been recruiting as a favor. The media reports caught onto it and Kobe is vehemently denying because he doesn't want to be associated with the Lakers front office. It's bad for his brand, and makes it seem like he's not 100% invested in his businesses, which will also piss off the stakeholders of those places, who already have the fear Kobe might drop everything and join the Lakers front office.

Kyrie is intrigued by the Lakers, but is definitely shopping around with other places too. As the AEG pitch develops, I'll keep you posted.

Well if his current media tour is any indication, Hart is ready for a change in scenery.

Uncle Dennis will completely fail with their brand expansion plan if he allows Kawhi to sign with the Clips. History says that no player has ever achieved greatness as a Clipper. The only tradition that he is gonna get as a clipper is getting boo'ed in Dodger games and getting meh service from establishments.

Yeah. I mean with all that’s happened that just wouldn’t be enough for me.

I feel like we need at least one of AD or Kawhi to make it okay. I can talk myself into some of the fall back plans but Boogie and Butler does nothing for me

Maybe...klutch better deliver after what they've put the organization through for the past year.

Oh yeah. My sarcasm meter was definitely on with that comment

I am somewhat optimistic despite having no real reason to feel that way. We will definitely see

You have followed unwritten forum rule #1 again- thou shall hate the Clippers and let that hatred blind you.

GSW was a historically lousy franchise for many years; the Clippers are a very different franchise than they were even a few years ago.

Yep, truth is, this Laker debacle has forced me to re-examine my opinions on many teams. When Jack Kent Cooke owned the Lakers, it was less than ideal. When he sold to Buss, things went up immediately. But we were a very good team under Cooke, just never had any love or support for that ownership. The old Clipper ownership was horrendous. They absolutely F'ed under their fans in San Diego, before they moved. Then pulled the bail on us to go to LA. I hated them back then. But once he got run out of town by the league and Balmer got control of the team, you gotta hand it to them, they have made a lot of solid decisions. They were bold to get rid of Griffin, he is good but he is not a solid #1 option for a championship team. They opened up a ton of cap space, have good management and are looking a lock to bring in at least one great FA. Nobody has anything but respectful things to say about their FO. I am not a fan yet, but I tell you, if they sign Durant and/or Kawhi, I will give them a shot. They deserve it. If the Lakers keep making all these stupid mistakes, it's going to make giving the Clippers a fair chance a lot easier for me.

It's up to Jeannie, she needs to address the Lakers fans, come out with some solid leadership or she is going to lose a whole lot of us I suspect. I am not going to sit here and support her year after year, when she doesn't even respect us enough to address our concerns. See how far that advertising contract will last when she has lost her fan base.

Of course this all is based on her not solving any of these problems, not being able to sign top FA's and having another round or two of BS come down the pike.

Uh yeah my hate has blinded me to that glorious Clipper championship run where they almost went all the way to the Western Conference finals. My point stands what does being Clipper bring to Kawhi's brand except derision, I'll understand if he gets under the table cash from Ballmer.
