He's definitely better than those two, the question is really what can his body handle. I think he's better suited off the bench.

As for his character flaws, almost all of them are attributed to him being kept out of the rotation on a horrible, horrible team. Given minutes he's been productive. The only reason he's sitting is because the organization is stupid and doesn't know how to manage their personnel.

noel's off court stuff worries me. i'm feeling like he's kind of stromile swift-y. i pass unless it's in FA on a low risk deal. he hasn't really proven he's an nba rotation player, imo.

He is talented and certainly an upgrade but personality-wise he looks like a tool to me.

This may be true about being on a bad team, but that's something management has to figure out and make the call on. Is his character flaws really because he's on a bad team or is it something in his attitude/work ethic that would stay with him where ever he goes. The complaining about minutes is one thing, but I'm more alarmed by his showing up late to practices.

That is one thing this Lakers team never has to worry about currently. A lack of effort in putting in time from its players before or after practice.

Of course there's cause for skepticism, but I don't remember there being a lot of issue about him before this season other than his health. Were there previous reports of him being a distraction? Getting into trouble? Punching fans in the streets? I don't remember anything like that. These late to practice reports started surfacing when he wasn't playing and was frustrated with the team right?

Obviously if they dig and find out he's got real issues, then stay away BUT a change of scenery could be all he needs to feel revitalized. Thomas Robinson bounced around the league for years and we seem to have made him a decent NBA player by empowering him and giving him opportunities to succeed.

Still kind of hoping that we hold out for Paul George the following summer.

The only story I recall was a landlord was suing him due to damage caused by him and his friends. I'm sure some of this was posturing from the homeowner, but it still shows questionable decision-making on Noel's part. Honestly, this could just be immaturity in terms of having to actually take care of yourself like an adult for the first time in his life, but it's still something to consider.

-- "Splashed neon colored sports drinks (such as Gatorade) on the carpets throughout the home."
-- $30,000 in other damage to carpets
-- Extreme water damage throughout the home
-- Clogged toilets filled with cotton balls and feces

(In fact, the owners say the plumber who fixed the toilet told them the damage was so bad he told them, "Someone must not like you.")

    -- Broken elevator (it's a baller house)
-- $4,000 in damage to the stove
    -- damage to the fridge
    -- damage to the blinds
    -- damage to dishwasher
    -- torn window screens

The owners say they also found weed and roaches from joints in the home -- including pieces of marijuana in the master bathroom drawers.

Now here's the scary part ...

The owners say they demanded $42,000 to repair the damage ... but the DAY AFTER they sent the demand, a TOMBSTONE with the words "RIP" mysteriously appeared on the front steps of the property. The owners believe it was Noel's doing and are considering it a death threat.

That's a super weird story and definitely shows character issues. The tombstone thing I don't even know how to start with. Everything else sounds awful and stupid and like immaturity that we're trying to drum out of our own kids. If there are other such instances like this, then I'm fine staying out of this fray.

I'd also like to be clear that I'm not interested in giving up a lot for him. Noel's value is dirt, rock bottom right now. A malcontent getting no minutes? I'll give you a 2nd rounder and maybe one of my crap guys. I'm sure that's what we offered and I'm equally sure the Sixers said no... for now. Let's see what they get at the deadline. If they get anything of value then I'll say Noel's character issues are overblown. If they don't get much of anything then I'll say it's probably true he's got problems and it's a low risk investment. Either way, he's a talented kid and we need some talent. If it's easy to get him, then I want to take that chance.

This better be Paul's dream as well. So many people gave us the middle finger lately, we need a star asap. If we miss out on George, we'll be 0-3 at attracting hometown kids :/.

Or send Randle off for someone who can defend.

I'll play with that; I was thinking about this. I believe Ingram will eventually be a full time-4 (IMO). Luke loves small-lineups.

With the potential acquisition of George, I would suggest PG at the 3 and Ingram at the 4.

Randle? I'd ship him for a WCS. You'd have a starting lineup of: Russell, ?, George, Ingram, and WCS.

I think the Wolves lock him up, but I'd certainly love that; I mentioned WCS since I think he's actually more obtainable.

    PG - Russell
    SG - George
    SF - Ingram
    PF - Randle
    C - Towns

6th Man - Clarkson (If we can keep him and aren't over the Cap with that starting 5)

What have you seen from WCS that makes you even remotely interested? I mean I know the easy answer is length and defense, but has he really showed that???

It's not just his length on defense; he can do 3 things at an elite level: Rebound, defend, and finish.

I think he can have close to a DeAndre Jordan effect on our team; I think he has shown glimpses of being an NBA rotation player, but he's in Sacramento, and I don't think they know how to develop their youth properly.
