He's not a good fit considering how many wings and 3/4 tweeners we have. We have bigger holes to fill.

Houston losing another forward has to open them up to pushing hard for Melo. Anywhere but here.

4/80 for Smart. Any chance the C bags match?

    My God.

I really don't think they're going to give the same offer to Smart that they gave to LeVine, but no of course not. Danny Ainge would laugh until his hooves ached and his horns fell off.

Please put those dirty cbags under some duress already. It better be a ridiculous offer, cause if it's decent and the cbags match, then that's yet another trade chip for them.

I actually like Smart's game and it's rumored the Spurs like him too.

It won't be 4/80 for Smart. Jeez. If it is, we can look forward to another decade of mediocrity with Smart's albatross hanging around the Kings's necks.

I like Smart's game too. But I like it for 8-9 million per year. Not freaking 20. lol.

Maybe the Kings angle is a leverage ploy to get a multi-year deal done from the cbags.

If Smart got a 4 year 80 mil contract, we’d hear news like minutes later that Julius Randle has fired Aaron Mintz.

Yup. This needs to happen so my Ingram “Stanness” will make sense.

Bobby Marks says we’ll officially sign Lance with cap tomorrow, meaning we’re out of cap room but will still have the room exception to spend on someone else.

    Hm. That's interesting.

That would mean we use our cap space on the Stephenson/McGee combo. I'm not sure there's anyone left who I'd want to spend that cash on anyway, so it's not a big deal.

I might be interested in saving that Room Exception and just signing a minimum level guy. That way if someone gets bought out at some point during the season, we'd have the Room Exception left to use.

I'm gonna go out on a limb here and say they will end up using the rest of the money on Jamal Crawford.

    Lonzo Ball/Rajon Rondo/Isaac Bonga/(Alex Caruso)
    Kentavious Caldwell-Pope/Josh Hart/(Malik Newman)
    Brandon Ingram/Lance Stephenson/Sviatoslav Mykhailiuk
    LeBron James/Kyle Kuzma/Moe Wagner/Luol Deng
    Javale McGee/Ivica Zubac

That's 14 guys and two 2-way contracts already. I'm starting to think we're done making any big moves. The Lakers will wait and see what happens with some of these RFAs. Maybe you get a solid guy who gets renounced for some reason (Jabari Parker? Montrezl Harrell?). If not, you can scoop up a guy like Channing Frye really cheap before the season starts. He's familiar with the system, the staff, and obviously LeBron. Not a lot of tread, but a solid fit.

The scouting report says we need shooters, but if we get some in-house development out of Ingram, Ball, and continued success from Hart and Kuzma, we'll be okay. LeBron is a decent shooter and he wants to try to play off the ball more.

LeBron, Lonzo, and Wagner should be in the 34-36% range. (Frye probably slots in here).
Ingram, Pope, Kuzma, and Hart should be in the 36-40% range.
Mykhailiuk will be in the 100% range.

That should be enough. We're not going to be a high volume shooting team anyway. We're going to be a defensive team, a fast paced team, and a team that attacks the basket consistently. We've got that. Still the strangest fit is Lance Stephenson and Rondo off the bench. It could work really well, but we'll need Hart, Kuzma, and Wagner to be knocking down shots.

Imagine Capela just takes the Qualifying Offer then goes unrestricted in 2019.

Ingram, Kuz, and Zo all make a leap to make Kawhi not that big of a necessity.

I’d take Capela on this team any day.
