    I don't believe so. Pope's cap hold is even higher than his actual salary so the timing on that isn't all that great.

    So there's still a way to get Cousins or Kawhi right now, but it'd require Randle either sign and trade to San Antonio or us waiving our rights to him as well as stretching Deng's contract.

    Ireland on the radio said, purely speculation, but it looks like the Lakers are prepared now to meet a crazy demand for Kawhi.

    What???? I love the Bron signing but everything after that is questionable at best.
    Now, we're thinking of shipping Kuz, BI and Hart for Kawhi. Probably no Deng attached too. I feel like crying...

    I dont disagree, but he has a point. IF we chose to move Lonzo or Ingram or Kuzma or all three, we've got the depth to make that move now. I'm not saying that's the plan and neither was he, but we COULD do it... if it came to that.

    The Spurs mouthpiece (Woj) said a few mins ago on SC that Kuz hasn’t been put in any offers for Kawhi, and “he would have to be” for the Spurs to do it. Sorry, Spurs, keep dreaming.

    I agree. At this point to me it's clear the two don't see eye to eye on price, but let's see where they are at the deadline. There's absolutely no way the Lakers give up Kuzma. I think he's ingrained in the franchise at this point. I could see Ingram, Hart, and/or Ball going though.

    If the Lakers traded away all three of those guys (I'm not advocating that they do), they'd have:

    Rondo/Stephenson
    Kawhi/Pope
    LeBron/Mykhailiuk
    Kuzma/Wagner
    McGee

    That's still a team. I'm not saying I'd do it or that Ireland was advocating for it, I'm just saying it's possible.
