I think Rondo hates the Lakers, and wouldn't consider it. But after traveling the league, you never know. But NO might be the only play for Boogie at this point. Just no more money out there, and I'm glad we moved out of that price range quickly.

Other agents barely had a chance to use the Laker's name to negotiate their deals with other teams lol. Magic and Rob worked quickly. I like that.

We're at 11 already. Word is Lopez is likely to sign as well. Something else is going on here we're not seeing.

Yes, this was before Stephenson got the room exception we hoped Lopez would sign, and then McGee committed. The only way to keep Brook now would be for the minimum, it’d be on him if he wants to take less money to stay living in Cali and to be on a winning team. I suppose he could also walk over to the Clippers since they are losing Jordan. Would love to see Brook back for the minimum though, we still don’t have a starting center, I’d prefer Lopez/McGee to McGee/Zu.

I think if Randle is sent out (fingers crossed as part of a Kawhi trade), Amir Johnson is a lock to come in as backup PF.

Amir would be perfect in that role.

Someone in the Kawhi thread mentioned a trade of Kawhi/Pau (spurs salary dump)/Mills (salary dump for BI/s&t Randle/Deng (would be required to match salaries)/Hart/picks....

Strangely enough that would fill out our roster really nicely, we would be able to get Mills as a good backup PG, who’s good enough to start if required due to Lonzo’s durability issues, and Pau is now a modern day stretch 5 lol.

    Zo/Mills
    Kawhi/KCP
    LeBron/Stephenson
    Kuzma/Amir
    Pau/McGee/Wagner

    Not bad right?

If we did sign him, we'd have 3 legit 7 footers and a small ball center if we brought back Randle. Could cause some matchup issues for sure, as they all have different gifts.

I agree and if we do bring Randle back, he'd fit a lot better next to a Center who can be more of a perimeter threat so Randle can feast in the post like last year.

Here's how our books look at the moment.

    Bron (35.4)
    Deng (18)
    Jules caphold (12.4)
    KCP (12)
    Zo (7.5)
    BI (5.8)
    Kuz (1.7)
    Hart (1.7)
    Moe (1.7)
    Zu (1.5)
= 99.4m (about 2.4m remaining in space, which is roughly the amount of a vet min; so essentially capped out at the 101.8m cap)

If Jules concedes to signing the QO (5.6m), then 6.8m comes back in cap space, leading to 9.2m in cap space.

If Deng also gets stretched (7.4m), that's another 10.6m that opens up in space and now we're looking at 19.8m in cap space.

McGee and Stephenson have the roster at 12 (ie no incomplete roster charge) and these guys don't really count against our cap space since they both were (what appears to be at the moment) brought in with exceptions.

So expect more signings or trades fam (Svi and Bonga remain unsigned)... especially another vet min since that is the amount we have in cap space and can essentially lead to another vet min exception, with that 2.4m as available cap still...and it would keep rolling till the roster fills at 15.

    Excellent work vash.

I have a feeling there's a move on the horizon for Kawhi. That would make sense with the KCP signing.

There's still so much to do, so much opportunity.

Hard no to Rondo. I know, I know. I have to be an adult about this and I want the Lakers to succeed more than just about anything else in the world. But that 2008-2010 rivalry meant too much to me. Game 7 is just about the greatest memory I have as a Laker fan. That whole team can still drive off a cliff for all I care. Stay the **** away from my team.
