Deng is only a cancer with the cap, he doesn't cause locker room issues nor does he cry to the media about not being out there and how much better the team is with him out there. Whiteside on the other hand hasn't notice he isn't improving, the game is moving away for his style of play but rather than thinking this way he goes to the media and complains about coaches not using him effectively and back handed comments about the coach as well.

Neither will that Kareem Abdul Jabbar guy :) Yeah I don't fear for those long, sinewy muscle type bigs as far as longevity. I do worry when they are that young and skinny about a bad injury a'la Livingston but barring those freak injuries not for their general state of bodily health.

rots from the head. i wish he'd sell, and i'm not even a knicks fan. just sucks to see him pull down what could be a competitive franchise. having another big market destination might help cutdown on superteaming, paradoxically.

Every year, Riley at some point has heavily criticized Whiteside in the public lol.

If PG stays in OKC he has to realize that once Melo's contract is up they will look at reducing their payroll. So next year is their window. OKC will be Westbrook, PG, Adams and Roberson for several years after that. In a few years when Westbrook and PG are in their 30's they probably will not even make the playoffs. If PG goes to LA the Lakers have the money to pay him and potentially one more star or him and 3 or 4 solid rotation players. Then in a few years when the young core has matured they will be a top 5 team with several of their players still a couple years away from hitting their primes. The Lakers future looks much more attractive than OKC.

Very long but good read on Leonard and the Spurs on BSPN by Ramona and Wright.

Personally there is no way in heck I would trade for Leonard right now with that injury. It's just not clear enough to me about how it's going to be treated, what the timetable for recovery is or anything else you would need to know to risk losing good young players to get him.

We better not even THINK about trading for Kawhi. I'm staying away from that situation completely

    Here's a crazy scenerio.....

Memphis has the 2nd best odds of winning the draft lottery. If they win the lottery, the consensus #1 pick is DeAndre Ayton, who's a Center. If they go forward with that, they might just go full rebuild (they look like they are hinting at going in that direction anyway by signing assistant JB Bickerstaff as the head coach for the net 3 years). Ayton would make 33 year old Marc Gasol redundant, and Marc probably wouldn't want to stick around for a rebuild anyway.

If Memphis called the Lakers and said, "We'll give you Gasol....but we want Ingram and the 25th pick, plus we are willing to take on Deng's contract to make the salaries match". Do you guys do it?

If we are able to also sign PG and Lebron (shudders).... this starting lineup would be ready to contend:

    Gasol
    Kuzma
    Lebron
    PG
    Lonzo

I would rather keep Ingram and see if Lopez will take the room exception.

After this year Denys contract becomes movable anyway, or you try to move it in a mega deal to match salaries.

If we keep Randle, that’s an intriguing scenario

Marc basicly said to us "FU" not that long ago. I say the same thing to the Grizz FO and move on with another plan.
