Boy am I glad you're not GMing for us right now. You realize this guy expires in a year right? This is NOT the going rate for any player in that position. What did Indiana get for George? What did Sacramento get for Cousins? Neither of those players are as good as Kawhi, but neither of them held out for a year with questionable health. There's literally zero chance the Spurs get an offer even close to that from us for Kawhi Leonard. I'd bet my house on that. The C Bags could put together an offer of Brown/Tatum/1sts and it would make sense for them and the Spurs and good for them. The Lakers shouldn't make that offer, that's a stupid offer in our position considering we're not competing for a Conference title.

If that's the cost (it's not), then we don't pay it. Simple as that.

Don’t get me wrong I like Kawhi and he’s a great player.

But there are way more questions and concerns about him than there were with George last year.

If you Spurs can assure you he is healthy, what are you offering?

agree with all. i like our young guys. there are worse spots to be in than just keeping them all and trying to build. but i trade basically all of them for an mvp candidate. i start my offer lower for kawhi because of his weird situation. if this conversation were about anthony davis, i'd say: trade all of them if need be. *bboy stance*

Probably Randle OR Ingram, Hart and picks.

A re-signed and extended Randle + Hart makes a lot of sense. Ingram + Deng + Picks (maybe even Hart included) makes a lot of sense.

Two out of Ingram, Kuzma, and Ball AND picks does not make any sense at all.

Only if you overrate our players, none of them project close to being MVP candidates and we can get one at 26? If his health checks out and with the rumours that he wants to be home in LA and assurances that he will resign with us - sign me right up.

Kuzma projects as a fire 6th man right now, Ball projects to be the 4th best player on a championship team because he can’t hit the broad side of a barn with his shot (we all saw the shooting splits posted a few days ago) and is pretty ineffective at scoring in general - his saving grace is his top shelf playmaking and better than expected defence, but if he never learns to shoot, he is Rubio. Ingram out of the trio has the most intangibles but is also fairly brittle. He could top out at a border line all star or he could become a top 10 player.

Also you left out Deng in my proposal. I don’t send Kuzma if they aren’t taking Deng. Some of you are bringing up one of the minor young assets and two 1sts to get rid of Deng. I’m basically saying that trade, just upgrading Hart to Kuzma and Lonzo for Kawhi as well. You’d have to be out of your mind not to do that.

    - This year’s low Cleveland 1st, this year’s second, one extra 1st, Lonzo, Kuzma and they have to take Deng for Kawhi and one of their expirings to match salaries.

Yeah. I can part with one of them. Can’t see two especially with all the question marks and when he will be a free agent next year.

I rank our young assets like this:

    Ingram
    -
    -
    Lonzo
    Kuzma
    -
    Hart

So keeping Ingram and Hart is a better combo to me than Lonzo and Kuzma. But I can see how you can argue it otherwise. Out of those 4, two will be needed and at least one of the top 2.

Stop it! You can't have the kids. We have cap room, flexibility and 3 very smart basketball guys in Magic, Rob and Luke headed for a retreat to discuss all aspects of this. Let them do their jobs. Hands off!

I can’t argue much with that breakdown other than I think the line between the top 3 is pretty close and any of them can emerge as the best of our young bunch.

I think an Ingram - Hart deal with picks, Deng, or whatever we have to do works pretty well though and I’d be comfortable with it if everything checked out with Kawhi.

...trade all of the kids for Kawhi and Anthony Davis. Completely start over.

I'm with Elgin & Real in that SA doesn't have much leverage with Kawhi. Sure they can give him the super max, but rumors are flying around that they won't offer it to him anymore, which is why Kawhi's people are trying to secure a lucrative shoe deal and we all know shoe companies love them some big markets (Westat is the exception). Essentially SA has Kawhi on an expiring deal and they better get some value back for him while they still can.

S&T Randle + picks + Kuz (SA is wet for this guy) for Kawhi...However I would try to leverage a Deng dump if they want pickS plus Kuz.

You add one of Zo or BI in place of Kuz in that package for AD. And if push comes to shove, you add Hart in there to seal the deal. AD as your 5 is money in this soft league.

Either way, you try to keep at least 2 of the young core for a Kawhi trade and at least 1 in any AD trade.

Remember, trading for those dudes means we're keeping them away from the likes of Boston. You know, the guys that we're trying to catch and pass up in total franchise titles against.

Also still LMFAO at the ridiculous midseason polls that had Laker fans not wanting a team of Bron, PG and AD. They took homerism to a whole new level.

Pop mended fences with Lamarcus, but with Kawhi, I'm sure it's the last thing on his mind right now. RIP Erin Popovich

And I hope fans and the media can respect this man and not ask about Kawhi till he has the appropriate time to mourn his loss.

I can’t find the fast forward button to the Finals or Free Agency or the Draft. :/

So you prefer 4 year luxury rentals like Deng and "White Flag" Mozgov?
