Hey I know, let’s trade for Leonard, sign Cousins to max, sign and trade Randle to Dallas for Matthews. It’ll be a super fun game, ‘will they or won’t they play a game next year?’.

I mean personally my sense of the situation is that Kawhi is having tension with the organization moreso than having a physically debilitating long term injury.

Are there any cases where a quad injury has crippled an elite player in his mid-20’s for the rest of his career?

We should probably sign Joakim Noah for a little insurance.

Something to consider on the SA side:

They're 54-32 over the last 3 seasons w/o Kawhi. How the flying f*** is Brett Brown and Brad Stevens in the Coach of the Year conversation when they play in the East, had their best player in uniform for most of the season and hasn't had to deal with any type of drama other than the Fultz/Hayward injuries. Meanwhile Pop had to pacify Aldridge to retract his trade demand, had to deal with Kawhi's people's shenanigans, had to deal with a stronger conference and had to field a team that didn't have their best player for nearly the entire season, yet they could clinch a playoff berth tonight. The Spurs are 2nd in the league in defensive ranking with their best defensive player having only played 9 total games this season...you kidding me!!

I love Luke and had we still been in playoff contention or locked up the 8th seed, I would say Luke is the CotY, but as of right not its definitely Pop and it shouldn't be close. #PopIsKing

They won't get a MVP defensive dynamo type back in a Kawhi trade, but SA should get back talent and if/when they do, they'll remain dangerous as long as Pop is captaining that ship.

It’s almost more concerning to me that he quit on his team and refuses to say why. If he has issues with the org, say so. Instead the coach is taking shots, the players are taking shots for the coach, it’s ugly. I’m not sure how I feel about a player who decides he doesn’t want to play mid season and so he stops playing. Is that a guy I want on my team knowing he could up and quit at any moment he doesn’t “feel right”? I honestly don’t know, I need to know what the truth behind all this is. Is he hurt, is he unhappy with how they handled the injury and wants out? I’d need to know the real story before I’d make a move, I mean look what happened with Cleveland and IT/Kyrie.

Locker room drama is never a good sign for any player. I don't think there are instances that change for the good for a player changing scenery. There will always be something going on with that player.

I believe this all has to do with money. He wants to be in a bigger market, to get the endorsement deals he wants. He's making only 500k a year from Jordan brand, he wants a bigger bag, he doesn't get the exposure in San Antonio. I see us the Lakers really going after him in the off season

LOLOL. We have another mensa player and mensa agent duo in the league.

    https://sports.yahoo.com/drug-suspe...-went-way-nerlens-noel-planned-175307637.html

"Things started to fall apart last summer, though, when Noel — then a restricted free agent — reportedly turned down a four-year, $70 million deal that the Mavericks offered. He reportedly believed that multiple maximum-salary contract offers were coming his way, but when July 1 rolled around and free agency began, those offers never materialized."

KCP and his and LeBron's agent say "Hi" as well as Spree back in the day and his agent. What's Spree doing these days anyway? How long did his business with the wheel spinners last?

I can't believe he turned down 70 million dollar contract?! :Kaream Surprise: what an idiot... That's about 17.5 million a year to sit on the bench and barely play. I however think Noel has a ton of potential still but he hasn't improved as well, so his passion for the game is in question... If we do get George and resign Randle, with Lopez possibly finding a better deal out there, maybe joining his brother on the bulls. I see us going after Noel with a small offer.

This Kawhi thing seems to be heading to a divorce. Woj had this way back when saying there was discourse...seems like his sources came through again.

Let me repeat, the Spurs (w/o a rim protector and their best defensive player and Finals MVP playing only 9 games this season) are 2nd overall in defensive rating. They are 2 losses out of being the 3rd seed in the West. You f***ing kidding me...Pop is the CoY! No question about it!

yes, the spurs' consistent defensive prowess has A LOT to do with coaching. also helps to have a FO that is in lock step with said coach, as they find guys who are willing to play their way.

it's funny that coaches as gms don't tend to work well, yet it's really important that a coach and FO work very closely together.

anyway, when you look at SA's personnel on paper, they have no business being a top defensive team.

They were seemingly about to take a nosedive but LMA stepped up and had a great stretch there. 8-2 in their last 10 I think.

How scary is this free agent market projected to be? In yet another follow up to the LouWill team friendly deal, the Dubs just locked up Cook for the minimum for the rest of this season and next season (1.54M) as well. The Dubs had his RFA rights this summer and could have matched another team's offer sheet. From the way Cook has been balling of late, I don't understand why he agreed to terms with the Warriors for the minimum when it was possible he could have gotten more on the open market. The Dubs aren't really getting him at a bargain tho, cause they will be paying a projected $3.75 to $1 luxury tax on that contract next year making it more of a 5.5-6M deal (ie tax payer MLE) instead of a minimum.

Woulda been nice for LA to have this dude instead of Ennis.

Auditioning for a NBA comeback. He's only 30 years old. Might be a good backup pg option next year?

A little more insight on this KawhI thing from his teammate, Danny Green...
Yikes so he had a couple setbacks and he's still in pain.

In this next part he is speaking about a hypothetical of Bron joining SA. Green says something really crazy there at the end.... notice how he says "IF they can still keep Kawhi".

On his new podcast, CJ McCullom believes Kawhi is Cali bound in 2019...
I still wouldn't trade for him. Wait till 2019 to sign him if we still have the cap... And by that point, I hope we don't, since that would indicate the #2018Plan failed.
