It is certainly something team should consider this summer.

It's a moot point if the pick is going to be in 20 - 23 range. It's Cav's pick. This year.

So what? It's a 1st round pick. Attached to several other picks, that holds tremendous value.

I know. My point to Vash is that whether it's lottery protected, as we initial thought, or top-3 protected it will carry the exact same value when traded, because everyone understands that it's a 20 - 23 pick.

True, but it still holds better potential value right this second. :D

There would be no better time to trade it than now when the Cavs look so chaotic.

Have you seen the standings? The Cavs have 22 losses and are only 3 losses away from being in the lottery.

Now consider a roster overhaul that needs to learn to play together. Love still having to be integrated when he returns and still not having any defensive dynamos with these trades. Yeah, top 3 vs top 14 protected makes a world of difference.

I’ll miss JC and Larry. But, the chance to draft a big like Mohamed Bamba and sign PG13 in 2018, then sign Kawhi in 2019 is astonishing. The scary part is it all could likely happen.

They are not getting anywhere near top 14, which is when it would matter what kind of protection there is (provided they don't trade LeBron or something).

They have 7-th best record in the NBA... they are not getting a lottery pick.

Yeah. We need to hope Lebron sprains a knee. Nothing too serious because we want him to play for us next season, but serious enough to keep him our 4-6 weeks.

Bron literally just has to say he feels soreness in his left hamstring or something similar and gift us that good first round pick, while his team ends up missing the playoffs. Knowing full well he wants to sign here with PG on a team full of young studs. If someone gives him sh-- about how he missed the playoffs - "I was injured and unable to play". :ShaqOh2:

dem realgm posters are salty....all them haters called jc a negative asset all yr long n wanted la to attach 1st picks, randle etc. to get an expiring back....now theyre justifying this trade cause we gave up the almighty greatness of nance, i lile nance but his ceiling is a hustle energy bench big, not a tremendous lost, even though hes a fan favorite

Would we want a LeBrongate scandal of that magnitude kicking off the LeBron era in LA?

I think he may actually get rejuvenated with the group of names I see coming in and will have more fun.
