SPLASH ALERT :Brows: Smush Parker is now available in the #BIG3Season2
Smush is coming to play in BIG3 league.
Do we still have a roster spot for PG ? He would be excellent mentor for Lonzo

Probably true, but the way they did Blake that is a crazy team friendly deal that can be moved later, no doubt.

This actually tells me that dude didn't want to go into the open market this summer cause he and his agent anticipate that outside of the headliners (George & Bron), its going to a frigid climate for free agents.

I'm assuming this is going to make the Lakers pivot hard on Jules and if they have the possibility to retain him for cheap, they'll do it.
Imagine we trade JC for expirings and then we re-sign Randle so that he takes up JC's 12.5M cap spot. You then stretch Deng and you have $58M to spend on 2 max guys willing to sacrifice a few million off their true max (ie George 27M vs 30M, Bron 31M vs 35M).

I always thought the guy tried and was smart on defense even if not what you'd say was good, but he's an artist out there and is so smooth and all the fine moves he had scoring is easy for him. He can certainly do it for 3 more years. I really enjoyed having him. Guess Jerry thought so too. Agreed it's maybe a real nice hometown price.

If that's what good FAs are going to be getting, I want Julius beyond the deadline.

A little bit, yeah, but I don't see a lot of Clarksons available in FA so he's still got value as a proven commodity.

right. unless a star is coming today or tomorrow, i don't see the sense in making moves. clearing cap space just isn't that important and can be done at other times.

It also makes him an option for a playoff team looking to add some scoring before the final push. With Lou out of the picture, he's the last good 6th man for scoring.

JC is worth his contract. Lou is having a great year but he's a focus on that team and gets 10 more minutes per game than JC. Easier to get in a scoring groove with 33 mins as opposed to 23.

    Their per 36:
    Lou:
    PTS 25.8 REB 2.8 ASST 5.9 STL 1.2 FG% .439
    JC:
    PTS 22.1 REB 4.6 ASST 5.0 STL 1.2 FG% .448

Lou is shooting the 3 better @ 38% but is also 32 before next season starts, this contract carries him until 34-35 years old. Clarkson is entering his prime.

While neither are great defenders, JC has the speed and greater size than Lou and can guard 2s if again not a great defender. JC goes to the hoop more. Jordan only has 2 years left on this deal and will be 27. His minutes per game have been dropped over the last seasons by nearly 9 but his per 36 shows he's improving in all areas. He gets streaky but he's improving and that's what you look for in a guy his age. He could start somewhere and put up good numbers. I don't think his contract is bad, it's correct. Same with Lou considering his age.

Well that's not really what myself or @Khmrp were saying. Lou sort of sets the table now for what a scoring guard can get in this market which is to say not a lot. There were rumors that a lot of guys who thought they'd be getting 12-15 million would be settling for 8 million instead and Lou did exactly that. That means a guy like Clarkson is slightly more than "market" value.

But like I said, it doesn't really matter that much because there's really not many guys like Clarkson available out there on the market. He should be relatively easy to move any time we need to. Every team can use a scoring punch.

Hell a team like Cleveland should be asking for him or any other playoff team looking for a push into the playoffs off the bench.
