A poster on the Clutch website that claims to have "inside" sources. He has a following, but of course, take it with a grain of salt.

    - Kevin Love was fun like 5 years ago, no way I’d give up Randle for him. if I’m paying > 20 million for a player it better damn well be for a top notch superstar. Otherwise split that check and get more bang for your buck.

    - Marc Gasol huh. After not trading for Boogie/PG/etc we are going to trade for an aging player making 25 million. Lord have mercy. I’d lose all hope. Save it up for the next disgruntled superstar in their prime and cash in then. It’s becoming more frequent these days.

We got a lot of young bucks making peanuts.. Also maybe they think with Gasol trade that could be enough to lure George.

I'm a bit in awe at the reaction...

Isn't Love in the same tier as players like Bosh or George? As in a player that's not good enough to carry a team but could flourish as a #2 or #3 option?

I certainly rate him higher than a player like Hayward or Barnes, for example.

AFAIK the Cavs were playing great (on a 19-2 run) with Love as the #2 option playing center.

They started struggling when IT came back. And JR Smith, Tristan Thompson and Jae Crowder have been playing like garbage all year. Love is the least of their problems. He is grossly undervalued imo and we shouldn't miss this opportunity to buy low....

Their record was fine, but their defense has been atrocious and Love at Center is a big reason for that. He's not big enough to guard Centers and he's not mobile enough to switch effectively and chase small guys. He's best as a PF defender.

I just don't think it's a good value play and no I don't think Love is as good as Bosh or George. I think Love is absolutely a tier below them. Both of those guys were better defenders and better first options (especially George).

I was wrong about wanting to trade Randle early on for a pick. To be fair a lot of that was due to the way we were treating him, but either way it doesn't matter I was wrong. I think now it's pretty much star or bust. If we're moving Randle we need to get back Lillard or Kawhi (obviously in a larger package).

I wouldn't trade Randle for Love either, because Randle has more defensive versatility.

I don't love Love. Not a fan. I haven't liked him since UCLA and he let me down big time there.

The thing with Love as well is that he’s already won. He’s not gonna have that same chip on his shoulder like he did before.

Still a talented player, but doesn’t fit what we need at a 5.

love and bkn's 1st, i trade randle, but not just for love. i think if/when lebron bolts this summer, love can be had for very little. i also don't see cleveland moving him unless it's for another experienced star-level player (can okc trade melo for love? serious question).

i also don't see memphis trading gasol to the lakers unless the lakers are giving up one of ball/ingram/kuzma, and i don't see the lakers doing that.

OK I see Randle's stock has risen considerably over these few months.

This isn't directed at you specifically, but from what I understand Randle is equal value to Love + BKN 1st, but he still isn't a player that's worth paying over $15M per? How does that make sense? :D

(let me remind you that Love is still capable of putting up 25/12 as a 1st option)

it's the flexibility you're giving up that makes the pick necessary, imo.

i still worry about paying randle, but i'm not giving up summer flexibility unless i'm getting a good pick AND a good player. love/bkn 1st qualifies.

if cleveland implodes, the lakers could sign randle AND absorb love or a love-quality player, should they desire to do so.

Trade Randle for good assets, and then make him a great offer in the offseason to bring him back

    This.

I'm not excited about potentially having to overpay for Randle, but given our shrinking options it's better to have the option to overpay him than it is losing him for nothing while our FA options dry up.

    OK that makes sense.

I’m still hoping for a summer of George + Randle. Out of all the realistic trade targets I like Love. (not including pipe scenarios like Kawhi) I like him much more than Noel that's for sure.
