i find it absolutely hilarious that wade and thomas were the ones most vocal about criticizing love

i really feel bad for the guy. whenever there's been problems on that team he's been the scapegoat and i'm glad to see it looks like he's finally had enough

pretty sure he'd love to get out of there

Two questions I’d like to know the answer to if I were part of the Lakers FO...

How far does this drop Boogie’s trade value?

If the answer is significantly, is giving up a prospect + pick worth getting an early look at his rehab/progression before the summer when he comes asking for the money?

I’d say yes to the second question.

    Lopez / Zu / top 20 protected 1st for Boogie / Clark

Pelicans don’t have much wiggle room with the cap, already have a bunch of terrible deals, other than Davis no real young talent. I’d test them with really a garbage deal to see a preview of what Boogie becomes.

If we lose the pick we must be doing pretty good and means PG/Lebron are here or our young guys went next level.

Who can answer if it is completely ruptured (Kobe / E. Brand) vs whatever "torn" or there's a "tear" mean that's been reported?

we've been over it--same way paul got there. lebron opts in and is traded for anderson and gordon, maybe with a draft pick or two. i think it's much more likely than him signing outright to join an 11th place team.

Houston is attractive; there is no doubt that. Is there where he ends up? Possibly. The GM of Houston has been very creative; couple that with a new billionaire owner who has the potential to spend money and there you go...

I'm hoping for LJ; nevertheless, he doesn't want to come here by himself, and I can't blame him.

LOL all you guys that know exactly what LBJ and PG are thinking and are motivated by when it comes to Los Angeles and in advance of them sitting down at the table with Magic, Rob and Luke.

And before we even see how more than the last 1/3 of our season plays out.

You seriously think those 2 guys aren't going to want to hear what we have to say? I don't believe that .... too MUCH going on here.

They may...doesn't mean that they'll sign here. And well we have a lot going on, we don't have an ESTABLISHED STAR. :)

I ask the same question. Are two draft picks in the mid to late 20's worth it to take on Anderson and Gordon? I mean, is it worth paying the luxury tax for that garbage team?

    Thompson/Zizic
    Love/Anderson
    Crowder/Korver/Osman
    Gordon/JR Smith/Shumpert
    ?/?

That's their team at an annual salary of 120 million, not counting the Brooklyn pick. Honestly, if Houston gets LBJ, I'm going to start to question the league's legitimacy because it would almost seem like the NBA forced a team to do something to accommodate Lebron. I find it much more likely the Spurs make a run at him. Offer the expiring contracts of Pau Gasol and Rudy Gay and then give them Patty Mills (who's on a decent contract for his production). San Antonio throws in a pick. Maybe even throw in the expiring deal of Danny Green (if he opts in) to take a contract back. Cleveland can start to rebuild faster.

I don't think LLLLL wants anything to do with playing for Mr. Greg "My way or the highway" Popovich.

Not even close to my point. Of course not guaranteed. But there's well over a 1/3 of a season to be played. For everyone .... and some of us are making etched in stone predictions that it plays out we don't even get one. Pre-mature assumption very much so IMO.

Who was that 2nd superstar again that LBJ required to go back to 30 something win Cleveland?

OKC starting 5 of Russ, Roberson, George, Melo, Adams are 16-0 after the win today in Detroit.

With Roberson going down for the season, seems like OKC might scramble to keep their playoff berth. Adams and Roberson have been absolutely crucial for them and wow, what another tough break for these players. As terrible as it is, LA needs to vulture off this unfortunate accident.

Dude recently sat out due to patellar tendinitis in the same knee that he just ruptured. OKC docs got some 'splaining to do.

i think teams take gordon into cap space for nothing. he, like clarkson, is a sixth man of the year candidate making 12 million per for two more years. if cleveland doesn't want him, a third team will. anderson is overpaid by a factor of two, but at least he plays (this isn't like trying to unload deng--great asset management, btw, gaiz!).

i agree that avoiding the luxury tax is important for cleveland, but they can do that. if they move lebron, they can trade love into cap space (ironically, possibly to the lakers). and they don't need to get under the cap because nobody is ever signing in cleveland. they need to be bad for a couple years and hope to hit the lotto. having cap space when you're terrible is useless (as lakers fans should undersand very well). there's no fast rebuild from their situation if lebron leaves.

as far as legitimacy, the paul trade didn't kill it for you? either one (vetoed la or forced houston)? the league will look the other way if they think it enhances the value of the product. for whatever reason, the nba is invested in houston's success (see harden, james). they won't stand in the way.

true. not as premature as clearing cap space a full year ahead of free agency, but premature.

The sky isn't falling; we just need a little common sense to put 2+2 together.

I'm hoping a Love trade is imminent.

Then sign George in the summer.
