He's playing a limited role with the Bulls, who had his contract picked up for the rest of the season recently.

I've read he's doing the same thing with his hustle and energy and impressing, still needs a shot though.

Hmm...I wonder if we could flip Clarkson for a 1st Rounder, that would be a serious asset towards (possibly) moving Deng.

I definitely expect some movement before the trade deadline. Just my opinion; we need shooters and finishers.

Per Marc Stein, the Bulls are asking for a 1st round pick for Niko. The Pistons, Blazers and Jazz are all interested. The Bulls can also exercise his team option and make Niko's deal a 2 year 25M deal as opposed to the 1 year 12M deal it currently is. By exercising their team option, the Bulls essentially take away Niko's no trade clause and they can ship him anywhere they choose without his consent.

So this pretty much sets up the Randle market. If Randle is valued as a 1st round pick, you essentially got a pick to dump Deng with.

It'd be better to get a 2019 1st for cap purposes.

I think only one year was declared a weak draft by "experts" in the past few seasons. The "experts" are always going to make every draft out to be the best one in years because they are trying to drive ratings.Sometimes the truth will equal the hype they need to create to get as many eyeballs as possible, but it's typically a big conflict of interest.

they were right this past yr as the deepest, theres already at least 5 legit stars in the making this rookie class (tatum, ball, mitchell, smith, kuz)

I haven't had time to study the deeper guys yet, but I'm already less impressed. I think this draft has some great talent up top, but past that not as much.

good info. interesting that exercising the team option solves player veto. also makes him more attractive to trade partners, imo, as his play warrants more than that on the open market next year.

now, as it pertains to randle...i'd argue mirotic has shown more ability to play the way most teams want to play as a 25-30mpg pf. if he fetches a 1st, randle *might*. if he fetches something that could be late lotto, randle can fetch a 1st.

I don't want to trade Randle for a first. The guy brings too much to the table for us. Trade Clarkson instead.

I can't believe the Randle for 1st talk is still prevalent.
