This isn't really for FA and instead about the draft but right now Draftexpress.com has us potentially taking:

    upload_2017-5-2_16-39-4.png

I researched and looked into this guy a little more I would be thrilled if we landed him. I just see the little things from play-making to defense instincts that are there and would continue to get better. If we don't bring Tyler back we're going to need another guard for backup PG duties.

Random pipe dream post. Was thinking about it and my ideal scenario for this off season would be keeping our pick, drafting Ball, and then packaging something like Randle, Clarkson, and Houston's first rounder for George. It's not unreasonable, especially if George continues to let these rumors build and Indiana loses leverage. And then throw our cap space at Blake and see what happens. I hate the dude for his affiliation with the Clippers, but he's pretty damn good when healthy and these moves are feasible splashes we can make to immediately become playoff contenders.

    Russell / Ball
    George / Young
    Ingram / Deng
    Griffin / Nance
    Mozgov / Zubac/ Black

Some fans need to give up the idea of DLo as a PG. Ball is a far superior PG than DLo having never played an NBA minute

And you know this with him having played not a single minute against NBA caliber defenders?

I would love to get fultz....he can make up for dlo lack of athleticism....plus his ability to attack the paint would suit Dlo perimiter gm better. Ball i can see being a pg more like Rondo, where players work themsleves into getting open and just making the correct pass and he gets asst, rather have pg in the mold of Lilliard/Wall type

    Fultz isn't Lillard/Wall.

Ball is A 6'6" version of Rondo, sign me up!

Conviction. Certain players I see "IT". Saw that in Lillard at Weber St. Wall was a known freak with his speed and handles so not like you were putting anything on the line by saying he would be great.

Fultz don't see "IT". Ball "IT" is all over his game.

Go to LG. Said it about Lillard and Porzingis during the run ups to the draft.

They just got tired of me there for 2 reasons. I hated DLo and I also said Trump would win. I got banned the day after Trumps election lol

Neither Fultz or Ball are franchise players. Lakers need to use the pick, if they keep it, to get a difference maker in his prime. Lakers have enough youth in Russell, Ingram and Zubac. Those 3 will be starting next year, the 2 and 4 need to be veterans who can ball.

Would prefer to keep 3 pick and get Ball instead of DLo

2 spot is PG13. Maybe 4 spot Ibaka or Milsap

Ball doesn't have to replace Russell. The two of them would work off each other very well. The only thing holding Russell back is himself and his mentality, but he'd make a strong off-guard in this league if he got his head on straight. He'd also work well next to Ball who could organize the play, bring the ball up the floor, and then let Russell come off screens to get free.

My free agency agenda really is contingent on us not keeping the pick, but I want to go after one of the decent veteran point guards out there. As much as i hate him, I'd take Paul if he wanted to jump off the Clippers ship (he won't). I'd take Lowry, George, or (the guy I'm really looking at) Teague would work too. I think it would be easier to get a Teague than it would be to get a Hayward or a Griffin anyway. His situation isn't really different from George's. Does he feel confident Indiana has what it takes to make the next leap in their play? If not, maybe we can be a destination for him.

To me the biggest problem with D'Lo is consistency. Turnovers, FG %, defense, and athleticism are problems too. But let's not forget the progress made in his second year playing only 25% more minutes than last year. He's played 1/4 more minutes this year and put up: 15.6 ppg 4.8 apg 3.5 rpg. A lot of guards in the league can't put those numbers up. This kid did and he's barely two years removed from high school.

People are hard on D'lo. These are good numbers for a guy who played his first full starting NBA season. It's a horrible comparison but in Kobe's second year in nearly the same # of minutes as D'Lo, Kobe put up slightly lesser numbers: 15.4 ppg, 2.5apg, 3.1 rpg on 42% shooting with 2.0 TOPG.

D'Angelo and Kobe had pretty similar numbers and minutes in their 2nd year. No, I'm not comparing them. I'm just asking for patience. D'Angelo won't be Kobe but it's too soon to say he's a mediocre player at best. I think he will pair well with Ball. I also don't think Ball is just a 6'6 Rondo. The kid can shoot and he's stupidly athletic. Offensively Ball/Russell will be a nice tandem. Defensively......

The issue with just looking at numbers is you don't factor anything else... Kobe was on a stacked team! 2nd yr Kobe on this Laker team ... MJ on crappy Bulls team ... yeah 30ppg!

This guy probably has a different opinion of Ball.
