What you're going with the arm thing again? You were wrong about Randle. Fact. Don't be dancing around it now with qualifying your statements. Just saying you make these proclamations all the time like you're the definitive voice on the board here.

LaVar is that you? LT is spot on because I remember the same debates. You were adamant that JR is not an NBA player. Now you’re backing off and changing the story to fit your narrative. Just be honest that your assessment was off and you’re not an NBA scout. Everyone else knows this already. It’s okay to be wrong, but let’s not be delusional as well.

To be fair, Pelinka hinted at the same thing.

I think there's some deals that Pelinka is looking to make in December. Ennis, Pope, and Bogut are all movable by mid-December.

I brought this up in the Julius thread, but what about:

Mirotic for Deng/Zubac/1st (maybe Top 10 protected)

Chicago pros- Mirotic is basically dead money right now with the Portis situation. Now that Portis is back and getting minutes, he's obviously the guy they're betting on going forward. Chicago is expected to have cap space, but they're not expected to be major players in the market behind other teams like the Lakers and Sixers who look closer to competitiveness. By taking on two years of an old friend, they get two solid young assets in return for dead money.

Laker pros- The Lakers get out of the contract that they desperately need to shed for summer flexibility. Mirotic is the perfect contract for them going forward with a team option on the second season. He comes in as a needed shooter outside. The Lakers lose out on one a tremendous young asset in Zubac and a potentially solid asset in their 2020 1st round pick (1st tradable pick) if they fail in FA. However, if they don't fail in FA, they've now cleared almost 20 million off the books in one fell swoop.

Thoughts? Chicago get enough or the Lakers need to sweeten the pot even more?

Why do we have to protect the pick with all the youth we already have and since we're not going to be picking that high anyway? Shouldn't we make it no strings attached so it's a lot more attractive and a certain thing for the club that takes's Deng's sorry a**?

Maybe it’s foolish, but I’m not even all that concerned about protections on the pick. If we have anything in the lottery after next year, then the FO plan has failed and we have bigger concerns. We might need to have it very lightly protected (I.e. top 3) or remove any protections to attach it to Deng. I would take the gamble.

That's why I asked. I'm just leery of giving up picks without any protections, but if that's what it takes I'll make it an unprotected 1st.

The real benefit would be having 52 million in cap space. If we could then find a home for Clarkson, we'd be in excellent shape.

@therealdeal I like that deal alot. Heck I would even throw in Ennis, Bryant, Hart, another 1st round pick and hesitantly even Nance to get off of Deng.

Btw, Clips looking to implode. Patrick Bev is out indefinitely and DeAndre appears to be on the block.

Couldn't happen to a nicer team.

    Clips gonna clip.

Btw, I never like it when a player faces injury. But its inevitable in the game and now the Lakers need to exploit it.

Jordan / Beverley / Weasley for Lopez / Clarkson / Zubac or Nance

Beverley has fully non-guaranteed money in 2018
Weasley has 6 million PO that can easily be moved at deadline or offseason
Jordan fits with this roster better than Lopez and gives us another asset to flip at deadline

Leaves us with Deng, but half the puzzle is solved in the cap space game

Purely on an emotional "I hate Weasly Johnson and am trying to forget he was ever a Laker" stance, I'd have to say no to that deal
