If Kyrie knows James is leaving, why would you demand a trade this yr? Take your chances on one more season and get to the finals. I would look negatively on Kyrie for this, you're on a team thats gone to 3 straight finals playing next to a GOAT but you'd rather be the man putting up godly #'s even if it means less winning? Makes me question his mentality

We know that. The trade would be to us...

That negotiation can take weeks. I just posted my close to final offer to them in the Lebron thread.

There is an equal chance of Gilbert giving us LeBron as there was Pritchard giving us George.

Perhaps. And thats why Kyrie is pissed... He doesn't wanna go through that, just to possibly lose in the ECF and play with someone whose gonna be leaving.

I think LBJ would wave it for a few teams though at this point. As long as they don't give up main pieces, Houston, Boston, Spurs, maybe Minny. Does he wave it to play one season with Anthony Davis if the Pelicans offer Cousins? I mean, LBJ is good enough that as long as there is another star there, he can lift them up to contender status. If he really hates Gilbert as much as everyone says, he may take a trade to a number of teams and then rain hellfire down on the Cavs when he meets them. Holiday, Davis and Lebron would be terrifying.

nobody is beating Clev this yr in the East if all things remain the same, dont kid yourself...even with Hayward, Bos is no better than the likes of a Hou/SA type at best

There's no way that a trade goes down where a team doesn't "gut" themselves to get LeBron so why bother taking the trade? And if he REALLY hates Gilbert, LeBron should WALK to LA which would probably force Comic Sans into a loony bin.

Boston has ammo to make a trade by deadline as well... I was just saying at the end of the day theyre not guarantee to be back in finals and even if so theyll get waxed again.

I offered Randle,Kuzma,Clark,Deng, future first and two seconds for lebron.

Wouldnt that be huge for getting his bird rights? Then setup george signing etc?

I wonder if SA are interested and could swing an LMA + one of their decent players like mills, green, Kyle Anderson and a first in a 3 team trade.

Surely there is a team like charlotte or BKN that are willing to give up something for LMA

all it took was Oladipo to get PG...all it took was Buddy Hield to get Boogie

we can prolly sucker them with Deng and Caruso

Because LMA is a good player, and those teams could use him. Not like anyone is going to sign there as a FA... they have to trade for All Stars (and yes absolutely LMA can be an all star in the east).

He is a 23/11 first option, and putting up 18/8 as a second option. A team in the East would give up a decent young player and a mid 1st for that. Then the Spurs give up a 1st and one or two of Patty Mills, Danny Green and Kyle Anderson. It's not a bad haul for the Cavs for Kyrie. Two 1sts, MKG, Mills and Anderson. Kinda similar to what we got for Shaq

I think Cleveland is better off using the next two years to convince Kyrie to stay (LeBron leaving anyway) then accepting that mediocre package.

If Cleveland want to make the finals, it's gonna be tough on morale playing with a player who just asked to be traded. I think they get a deal for him now.

When a star wants to leave, they usually don't get much in exchange for them:

Shaq: Odom, Butler, Grant and a 1st

Pau: Marc Gasol, Kwame Brown, Javaris Crittenton and two 1sts

Chris Paul: Eric Gordon, Chris Kaman, Al-Farouq Aminu and a 1st

Deron Williams: Derrick Favours, Devin Harris, two 1sts

Carmelo: Wilson Chandler, Raymond Felton, Gallinari, Mozgov and a 1st

Ray Allen: Jeff Green, Delonte West and Wally Szczerbiak

Kevin Garnett: Jefferson, Ryan Gomes, Sebastian Telfair, Gerald Green, Theo Ratliff and a 1st
