Put a gun on my head and I'd say yes. We'd then obviously be in win now mode. Maybe we can snag CP3 then and so on and so forth and build a good team.

There was a report that if we offered the number 2 pick, the Pacers would "drive PG to the airport".

No use harping over it, though.

    Let's sign Rondo!!

That's entirely true. Any of these kids could prove any day now that they don't meet that standard and I'm fine with that. We're trying to build a winning program again and if these kids don't fit that vision, they're gone. I've been one of Randle's biggest supporters and I'm on board with trading him if it improves our team. I don't honestly give a rat's *** about Byron or his opinion. I don't need his opinion to understand my stance on Russell. I wish the kid well, but I understand why he was moved and I think we got a damn solid return for him and a dump.

Sure they wanted #2 but there's zero reports that they'd take on a bad deal from us. They took a bad deal from OKC, but Pritchard wouldn't even say our name according to some random source. He wasn't dealing with us. The Knicks got their man and gutted their whole team for it which directly ruined their chances at building around him successfully. They bid against themselves knowing that the Nets were being used for leverage. We avoided the same mistake.

If Boston didn't have to hold back, they wouldn't have. If it was such a done deal, George would be a C bag right now.

There may have been, but it's not worth losing sleep over in my opinion. That ship has sailed.

What report is that and did it include Deng's name?

It didn't include Deng. Admittedly, the dymanics change once Deng is involved, right.

However, getting a start is the challenge, amd I would have offered everything minus Ingram.

Oklahoma is Oklahoma, and I think George comes, but if Westbrook is healthy, they're a top 4 seed with a GM thsy can make things happen on the fly.

    Right now, we're a bottom 3 team.

That's fine, but I disagree with that stance. You're bidding against yourself, why give up more than you need to? The proof is in the pudding: they took a garbage deal that the entire NBA is laughing at them about. Pritchard was out to **** us (and Boston apparently) and we didn't let that happen. Why give up more than we need to? Randle/Clarkson/2 late 1sts was the best reported offer I've heard. Even if it's Randle or Clarkson/2 last 1sts it's better than what they took. Why would we ever include Ball or Ingram in that deal if we're up against Oladipo's 21 million and Domantas Sabonis?

Uh oh. Marc Gasol in the East? That team could definitely give the Cavs a fight.

    Garbage deal. No debate.

At ths time, though, I didn't nor did any of us know all the deals that were on the table; all we knew is what was reported.

However, if it's me, I am offering everyone except BI to ensure I have a star on the roster when I go recruiting next year.

Makes sense. Trade away Crowder/Bradley/future 1st for Marc.

Thomas/Hayward/Tatum/Horford/Gasol with Brown, Smart, Rozier off the bench. That's a team LeBron should do a double-take on.

I get you, but if you've been assured he's coming (through those same reports), then why are you giving up so much? If we'd heard anything dramatic change in George's stance about coming here, then I would agree with you. I said if we knew he was going to the C Bags, okay fine we have to pony up Ingram, but he went to OKC. I now have very little fear of George passing on the Lakers next summer. It's more important to me that we find a way out of Deng's deal than anything else. I'm willing to give up anyone not named Ingram, Ball, or Zubac to shed Deng.
