I would talk Smart on this team for a season, but I don't have a clue what we'd trade.

They need to clear space though, not take on salary. We'd have to trade like a draft pick.

If you think we can make the playoffs, I have a bridge I'd like to sell you.

The West got insanely tougher and barring SIGNIFICANT improvement from our young players, Ball has immediate impact and we make some big trade, we're probably sniffing the bottom of the West again. There's no game changing free agent left that we could afford or get on a one year deal.

Didn't realise crowder's contract was so friendly - 7m per. That doesn't work for them!

See this is where I disagree with some people and that's fine, but I'm expecting significant improvement from our young guys.

Randle is in the best shape of his life.

Ingram played very, very well at the end of the season.

Lonzo Ball is exactly the type of PG that this team needs and will have an immediate impact

I don't know if we make the postseason, but I wouldn't completely dismiss it as a possibility either.

We're are just too young to compete against GSW, Spurs, Rockets, OKC, Nuggets, Pelicans, Twolves. After them I'd put Jazz, Blazers, Grizzlies, Mavs, Clippers. And then you have us, Kings and Suns. I think we win around 35 games in a season where 50 games might be an 8-10th seed.

Rookies are almost never needle movers and usually don't have any positive advanced metrics. It takes a few years to learn the league. So Ingram, Zubac and Ball just aren't there. Clarkson and Randle should be coming into their own this season, but their progress looks to have stalled last year and neither took a significant step forward.

If we are going to have any chance of making the playoffs, Randle has to become a 18/14 beast, eat up the boards, shoot 40%+ from 16ft to 3pt line, play good defence and average a few assists a game. Clarkson has to become a quality starter 20/5 and play klay Thompson defence while shooting 40% from 3. I think if they max out their potential it's possible, but it's not very probable and I'm just not seeing that kind of step up.

I'm aware of how the league works and how a lot of rookies take awhile to get acclimated.

Lonzo Ball is not most rookies. He has an EXTRAORDINARY ability as a playmaker, a point guard, making his teammates better, much like the likes of Jason Kidd and others that are rare type of players.

Just look at that UCLA team as proof.

Clarkson doesn't have to be Klay Thompson lol cmon. We're talking about a team possibly sneaking into the playoffs as a 7th or 8th seed. Even if Clarkson is what he is at this point he's still at worst a very good sixth man/instant offense player off the bench.

As for Randle again as with Ingram and most young players he needs to continue to grow and improve, but right now he's basically a 13/10 player. He has gotten better compared to his rookie season so I'm not sure why people are acting like the guy isn't capable of improving or expanding his game. He's gotten more efficient as a scorer, defense needs a lot of work obviously, but his playmaking and ability to play under control have certaintly improved compared to a few years ago.

You added a legit scorer in Brook Lopez. Someone who can get this team easy baskets and be a consistent source of offense and he'll get easier looks with Lonzo.

Everyone just assumes all these teams making moves that automatically makes them much better, but we won't know that till we see the likes of Houston, OKC, etc. play.

it's going to take 50 wins to make the playoffs this coming season

this team isn't getting close to 50 games. it'll be a battle between us and the suns for worst record in the west barring some significant offseason pickup

Insanity. He will be making more than Kobe on his last deal.
