If I were Hill, I would hold out for a long term deal that starts at a higher price than we could afford. Something like $60 million over 3 years.

Even with his age and health concerns, he has more value than 1 year/$17 million.

But don't get me wrong, I would be ecstatic if he chooses to take a gamble on us.

I like George Hill and all. He's a nice player, but the foaming at the mouth in this thread for him shows how bad it's been here for the last few years. :D

Atlanta could be a viable trade partner. The team is at $63mm which leaves them $25-26mm short of the $89mm threshold.

Maybe Deng and Randle (total $22mm) for a future 2nd round pick or a guy like Belinelli expiring $6mm

Maybe Atlanta will be interested after losing Milsap and they're lacking size upfront

Thinking of Crawford as well. Good vet and amazing shooter. I'd have Kobe help out here. Jamal LOVES Kobe!

    Hurry the EFF UP Hayward.

He's holding up everybody right now with his stupid decision.

I'm really getting ticked off with all the misreporting happening with the Nuggets 3-way deal. I don't see how it opens up space to get Hill....they'd have to unload Faried, WC, Barton, Nelson...any combo of those 4 players...not to mention they'll have to attach assets to unload them since a few of them have contracts running past next summer.

I wonder how much our offer to Swaggy was?

Oh wow. Didn't even think of ATL as a landing spot. I can definitely see them being interested in Randle as a piece going forward.

Question is...would they take on Deng for another 3 years? I feel we'd have to attach another asset especially since Randle is up for an ext next summer...maybe we throw in one of our picks from this year? (Kuzma, Hart, Bryant?)

They can have whoever they want if it means dumping Deng!

Someone on Twitter advocated sending the 2020 first along with Luol for Jamal.

Think it's going to take more. Randle for ATL makes sense. He can team with John Collins their recent pick. If you look at their roster they have no bigs up front. Milsap left and they traded Dwight. Deng can be a small ball 4 on that team.

JC, Randle and Deng for cap space. SMH but I guess we have to correct Kupchak's reign of errors

It was just a sign that Mitch was stuck doing things in the past. It wouldn't be nearly as horrific if they were 3 yr deals which a lot of guys are getting

It was a panic move because of that ridiculous self imposed deadline for Jimmy.

Yeah but panic move to get two guys that nobody was pining for?

To this day I'll never understand those 2 deals...Deng wasn't getting offered anything NEAR 18M...and nobody wanted Mozgov.

    It's just...ughhhh

Oh wow....I was under the impression for a whole year that Washington offered him 3 years / 20M...turns out it was $20M LESS than our offer and 1 year less as well...so 3yr/52M....so he was still going to get massively overpaid in Washington at $17M per year. That actually makes me feel a little better...we just gave him one extra year. It's not "massively overpaying" when you compare it to what Washington was going to offer, which was essentially the same amount annually just one less year.

I still hate the deal we gave him though.

I seriously doubt it was Mitch's idea. His entire body of work stand against it.
