^ I don’t think swapping Kuz for Hart gets a 1st back. Still think they did what they had to do to lock in AD.

also, there were articles about Kuz d-ing up Russ in the last matchup. Really, just let the guy shoot jumpers as much as possible.

Jesus you’re still not getting it. The Lakers removed Kuz from discussions because it would require moving Green or 1/3 of the team.

you might hate to do it, but you’re wrong and don’t know what you’re saying. The Knicks weren’t taking Green straight up for Morris.

I would have traded Morris for Kuzma, but I can't agree with trading both Kuz and Green, even though Green has been underwhelming.

I get why people like Morris... he's got that toughness factor that this team is sorely lacking but even though he's had a career year it seems reckless to give up what the Knicks were asking.

We need to sign Collison which looks likely from that meeting... if not we need to sign IT or even try to get Lin from China as a last resort.

Aside from that we need to hope we get OKC, Denver, Utah, Mavs... the teams we've matched up with well this season and pray someone knocks out the Clippers, Blazers and Rockets for us. Then we also need to hope Miami upsets the Bucks.

I wish we had a visionary coach to figure out how to maximize these players. Vogel has done okay but he hasn't made adjustments against those teams that have given us a hard time. Say what you will about D'Antoni, at least he's thinking out of the box. Maybe they don't shoot like that every night, but if the Rockets stay close, they will be difficult to beat with those vets and a revitalized Westbrook.

Just curious, do you understand how math works? Danny Green being in the discussion was a no-brainer. If Lakers wanted Marcus Morris, there was no possibility of that without giving up Danny Green. So for there to be a discussion, it had to automatically include Danny Green. The problem was Lakers didn't want to give up Kuzma as well. They were hoping they could give up Danny Green and probably Daniels or Cook. Seriously, read what you wrote then tell me how they would have gotten to Marcus Morris's salary without trading Danny Green. Reports are Knicks didn't want Danny Green and that the Mavs were going to come in with a deal to take Danny Green. Who do you think the Knicks wanted since they didn't want Danny Green? KUZMA. Why did the Knicks end discussion(s) with the Lakers? Because Kuzma was not included. It's basic fundamental logic. I'm seriously questioning your intelligence because I don't know what is going on with your mind right now.

I’m not as concerned with Portland or Houston, but I get the premise. I’m anxious to see how our offense looks in the last 10 games going into the playoffs. They won’t reinvent the wheel, but I think we have enough talent to sandbag a little. For example, I think AD settles for jumpers sometimes because it’s a long season and he constantly gets hacked and pushed in the back as he goes up in the paint. I wouldn’t call it “flipping a switch,” but I do think great teams have an extra gear in the playoffs and I hope these guys can hit that.

I'm not concerned about the current iteration of Portland, but I'm very concerned about the version with Nurkic and Collins

I also believe we can beat the Rockets but if they stay close they will beat us more often than not in crunch time unless they have another playoff meltdown. We need to blow them out early as they would have the advantage with their vets in the fourth. I keep hoping AD starts taking over games, but it just looks like that won't be his thing.

For there to be a discussion, it didn’t have to include DG. I was trying to include all possibilities, but apparently I have to spell everything out for you.

A trade for Morris required Green or KCP. KCP has the no trade clause, so that brings us back to Green. So, Green for Morris? Sure, but now we have to throw in Kuz? That’s a stupid trade. It doesn’t matter where each player goes, but Kuz + DG for Morris is dumb. Clips gave up an expiring contract and a late first, but you want to give up our 3rd scorer and our starting SG?

Go ahead though and keep insulting my intelligence rather than addressing the actual point.

History hasn’t been kind to big guys coming back from serious injuries late in the season. I could see Portland putting up a fuss, but not enough to take us down. Anything can happen, but I just don’t see them as that big of a threat this season.

You're insulting yourself with outlandish remarks. I've addressed and made it quite obvious.

Lakers knew they had to include DG (which you've admitted).
Knicks wanted Kuzma but had to take on DG due to salary matching.
Lakers refused to part with Kuzma.
Knicks said screw it and traded with the Clippers.

Lakers have always had to pay premium. I don't know why you're surprised. Knicks are no threat and neither are the Mavs. Clippers are now an even bigger threat and all you are concerned about is Kuzma and his garbage $2 million contract (that ends up being $4 million next season). This helps us anyways. Danny Green and Kuzma will be $20 million of our cap next season. That money could be spent next season instead of us being cash-strapped. It's obvious we overpaid for Danny Green.

The outlier is, Kyle Kuzma. Talks died because Lakers wouldn't include Kuzma after knowing Danny Green had to be included. Knicks wanted Kuzma. No Kyle Kuzma = no deal. What aren't you following? What offer do you think the Knicks would have realistically taken? Danny Green for Marcus Morris? Are you out of your mind?

It's not like Whiteside is gonna go 10 for 10 and Dame is going to score near 50 each time... but they didn't have Melo or the two big men either

They are a team I don't take lightly.

I don't take the Pelicans lightly either, but I don't think they can make up that much ground at this point and Ingram just sprained his ankle.

The West is going to be brutal next year with the Warriors back at close to full strength.

I’ll buy both the Dubs and Blazers as threats next year. I’ll take the Pels as a playoff team next year but they’ll need to go through growing pains. This year? I could see Portland being a nuisance, but not winning a series against us. I love the Pels for the future but I believe they have some growing pains to go through first, though I’d love to see them make a run for the 8 seed.

So you admit we have to pay a premium and you want to pay it? That proves this whole discussion is a waste of time. If the only deal you can make is a bad deal, you don’t make it. And I’m out of my mind?

what money do you think we have to spend next season? We re-sign AD and then have the MLE. Dumping the Green contract is irrelevant, but please tell me again how bad I am at math.

You're not following, are you? This isn't about them. It's about the Lakers improving as a team and Marcus Morris would have been an improvement. Yes, we would have had to pay more. It's the price of being the Los Angeles Lakers. Knicks don't want to lose their merchandise sales, TV contracts, etc., by having the Lakers win so it's a known fact that premium teams pay more. But man, I'm being completely honest with you. I've wasted more time than I should debating you. It's pointless. You still haven't mentioned one thing Kyle Kuzma does at an average level and all I've done was bring out statistical and logical data for you to input yourself but you're more interested in being stubborn.

Business 101 for you, paying premium doesn't mean it is a bad deal. A good deal is one that benefits you as well. This benefits us. Yes, we would have paid more than what the Clippers paid. And? We have more to lose. We're the Los Angeles Lakers. No one cares if the Clippers lose. People care if the Lakers lose. That's a HUGE difference. I can tell you aren't a business kinda guy so let's not equate how deals are done.

Yeah but we hold Kuzma's contract. We are the real winners.

    Lebron is no spring chicken

the role of closer remains up for grab , and players are treating it like a hot potato

Business 101 from you? You don’t even know the definition of “revisionist history.”
Feel free to try for the 5th time, but you haven’t gotten it right yet.
