No way am I gutting my roster for a guy now on his 6th team with a career scoring average of 12 points per game. He’d been a nice accessory on our squad but not at the price they were asking.

Memphis Grizzlies do not plan to keep guard Dion Waiters with a buyout or release on the horizon, league sources tell Yahoo Sports. He should be better
than Crawford who is 40 years old

But we've seen JR in a veteran, championship environment and he's still a bone head. JR also already has his ring. Dwight came in humbled beyond human comprehension and has seen how that attitude is awarded with adoration from his teammates and fans. JR will not come in with that same humble attitude.

you or anyone else other than JR for that matter don't know that. jr has been out the league 2 years now...he could very well come in humbled. remember that dwight only came in humbled because he knew we were his last shot, much like with JR.

The Lakers were notorious for these deadline deals the Clips just made. The gave away nothing for a 3&D player we wanted and needed.
Not to be a buzz kill but methinks Lakers brass should have accepted Gentleman Jerry back with open arms.
The road to the division title and Chip just got tougher.

I mean, was Morris worth Green AND Kuz? Cause that's what we would have needed to do to match salaries. Besides, Morris has become severely overrated over the last few weeks. He's an adequate defender at best. He is an average shooter. I mean, why do we need that again?

44% from 3 equals avg huh?

It will drop a bit, but he is an above avg (at worst case) to good shooter

But is what he brings worth what Kuz and Green bring combined? You give up a 4 and a 2/3 for one 4, that weakens us to me. If people can seriously question here if what AD brings is equal to what Ingram, Zo, and Hart bring combined I have to do the same thing with Morris. Yeah he’s solid, but he’s not this “20 ppg scorer” that’s going to add so much to them. He played for the Knicks, someone had to put up 20, his career is much less than that and he’ll revert to that next to Kawhi, George, and Lou.

Morris would've been a great addition, Clippers gave up pretty much nothing. Us on the other hand were about to part with a young player with potential in Kuz and one of our 3d and D veteran pieces. Losing 2 rotational pieces (and picks) for Morris is just too much, I get passing on it even though it sucks he went to the Clips.

I didn't say he was worth DG AND Kuz

To me, he was worth Kuz, Avery (negative), and Boogie (salary filler).

Then re sign him to a 2 year 36M (Team option in year 2).

He is better on offensive than Harkless is, Morris isn't a guy you can leave wide open

Rob messed up a bit with asset management and with contracts, and sometimes thats the difference between winning it all and not.

Could have signed Rose if we gave Mcgee the mle instead of Avery and then signed Rose with mcgee and cook money.

The Boogie injury obv isnt his fault, but it sucks.

I think Morris stats in the POs are pretty decent?

Also, he has played on winning teams; he's going to adjust quickly with the Clips; and with his added PO experience, it's a win for the Clippers.

Also, this trade deadline is proof this is what happens when you don't appropriately value your existing assets or pay attention to the finer details (like keeping a 1st this year to trade to sweeten any deals.).

Now, we're practically begging for a guy who hasn't played professional basketball in months and a a couple of wings who might be washed at this point.

Who are the couple of wings?

    JR and Green/Marvin?

I hope Harkless buyout happens, but I think I read they intend to keep him

For me the trade falls apart at the pick.

Conversation starts with Kuz for Morris. Then progresses to who's giving a pick. It had to be them giving us a 1st. They expected one for us, that's where it ends.

If you can agree on that, then you can figure out the salary. Knicks got greedy. They wanted one from us and then another pick from Dallas for Green. Get the f*** out of here with that.

Kuz is better than the pick they got. And I have no idea who the hell the rookies are they got from the Clipps.

For all those suggesting we get multiple guys on the buyout market... with what roster spots are we supposed to do that with? Best case we eat Daniels deal if Collison is motivated to get off the couch.

All of you guys are saying Kuzma is better than a pick or this and that but none of you can name anything he can do at an above average level. All you guys do is quote his cheap salary. Who the F cares about his cheap salary? He shouldn't even be out on the court suiting up when he plays that bad. It's just the gotdamn truth.

I'm all for moving Kuz. Definitely backed off moving anyone after Kobe's passing.

I under no circumstance want to be the team paying him that next contract. He won't live up to it if he's a Laker. If he's on a much lesser team, maybe he will. I imagine BI like numbers when he's featured on a fringe team. He doesn't fit with AD and for that reason, he's out.

No reason to rush a bad deal though. Two starting level players and a pick for one starter is bad deal when they weren't getting close to that elsewhere.

Move Kuz in the summer or next Feb when we have more roster flexibility.

Tell me what Kuz’s $1.7M contract can’t bring back that makes us better, and maybe we can have a discussion.

Danny Green+Kuzma+picks for Marcus Morris? BYE, they both can go. I am not happy with paying Danny Green $16 million after this season so we get an expiring contract in Marucs Morris and his size allows us to have another defender vs PG and Kawhi.
