I'm a simple guy, and watch for entertainment. If we play well, I'm happy and cheer. If we don't play well, ...
any dish is as good as its ingredients. in the case of composite statistics, you have to feel good about the constituents, all of which have their own flaws. i applaud rodg for working at what i consider to be a relatively sisyphean task. it give us things to think and talk about, even if we're not sure of whether it's capturing the essence of basketball "goodness".
LOL ..... had to go to the dictionary to look up that "sissy" word. But I agree. Here's another round for trodgers
Positional Efficiency (Through seven games) Disclaimer A) Super limited minutes for everyone. Disclaimer B) This is what I consider the "offensive" player stat. Disclaimer C) * means that the player's stats are projected in at least one area because they haven't recorded a positive stat in an area (for instance, if you haven't handed out an assist, I give you 1/2 an assist to calculate your passing efficiency). PG Russell 85 Huertas 84 Calderon 69 Wing Russell 84 Williams 74 Young 71 Clarkson 68 Ingram 56 Brown 51 Deng 43 Peace 11* BIG Robinson 105* Black 92 Nance 78 Mozgov 68 Randle 65 Zubac 61 Peace 32* Yi 27 I'd like to see Robinson make the team. His hustle stat is off the charts. Clarkson off the pine might not be a bad thing. It might end up putting the ball in his hands a bit more, which is a good thing. Peace has to go.
I'd roll with these 15, in no particular order: Russell/Clarkson/Deng/Randle/Mozgov Huertas/Ingram/Young/Nance/Black Calderon/Williams/Brown/Robinson/Zubac Peace and Yi can step. Peace doesn't play anyway, and he really can't. And Yi - I mean, I don't know what to say.

Look at Lotus Flower moving on UP. Lotus Flower being Julius for new peeps at LB wondering WTF is he talking about. It came out randomly in an interview last year and jumped on here. It fits him well actually. I see "delicate" in the way he plays. Yeah.

The funny thing is that in addition to shooting way above his career average, he's handing out a career high assists.
So here's my Win Projection so far: 33 wins (this one is based on stats). (This is different from my prediction, which is 29; this one is subjective, and I posted it in the win thread.) A few things about this number: my stat becomes increasingly accurate as the season wears on (a good stat should be able to correct as it goes to accommodate unforeseen things). The win projection total has ranged from 24 to 39 so far. 2015/16 Last season, the projection got to within 5 games of the Lakers' actual wins (17) by game number 6 on the season. This means that after game six, the win projection was never outside 17 +/-5. By game 28 it was within 3, so the prediction never was outside 17 +/-3. It got to within 1 by game 51, so after that point it was never outside 17 +/-1. 2014/15 In 2014/15, it was within 1 game by game 44 on the season; within 3 games by game 41; and within 5 games by game 39 (but it was within 5.09 by game 12). Given all that, I'd narrow the range of wins to 26-40 right now, and in another half a dozen games, we should have it down to within 5.
