"Walton conceded Russell had “some questionable moments” in Wednesday’s scrimmage before chalking defensive miscues as “normal stuff.” Russell has sought advice from veteran point guards Marcelo Huertas and Jose Calderon on how to run pick-and-roll properly. And the Lakers will try to balance between coaching and empowering him to run the offense as he sees fit.

“I always felt I had the leadership qualities as far as being a leader or leading a team. But at the end of the day, I’m a young guy,” Russell said. “I don’t really know what it takes to be successful as I want to be. Then you have veteran guys that do. It’s about listening to those guys, learning from your mistakes and learning from the coaching staff. There’s a lot I can really gain.”

Just the face... for now. It just looks so "punchable" to me (same thing with Allen, CP3 and Lowry). Every time i see it, im imagining myself taking a full swing at it. Might be a time to seek some help.

I'm loving what I'm seeing so far in training camp. The drills they are running, aside from the basic ones everyone does, all translate to pieces of the offense that make the Warriors so effective. It won't look as pretty with our guys, but the foundation of good principles is being laid down, which is something this team needs.

I try to find Anthony Brown in every video and he's consistently clanking practice shots. Then I watch Durant/Klay make every shot for like a minute and get reminded of what a knockdown shooter looks like.

 

HA!! I just noticed watching that Day 3 workout video above again like yesterday, Zu at 4:17 in the drill ..... fakes going to his left on the pivot and comes back with the right handed "hook" that misses. But then two players later Nance drops in a right handed hook and Zu claps as Larry comes back to where he is and they slap hands. Zu's making the shot an in thing again I guess. :Headbang:

 

Randle is not a knock down shooter but he has clips where he's hitting shots with more consistency. It is encouraging though seeing Ingram and Russell knocking them down with regularity. I have a feeling those two may be our go to guys for three point specialists.

 

It's cool when the whole team is a legitimate threat, but you have to have your go to guys.

 

Picking nits here only with one word in the context used. I agree with your post until proven otherwise about not being a knock down shooter. But "this" camp so far and with only the clips provided of DAR, Brandon, JC and Randle ..... on like 30 more? attempts we have seen captured with footage he seems as well to be knocking them down with "regularity". More consistency of course. But he has been impressive. AND he has clearly worked on his right hand. Look at the footage in the Day 3 reel there's several from various angles, and he looks like he's getting a feel for touch with those right hand shots.

All right what do you guys think? An "act" by Swaggy P trying to show he's over the DAR blow up? Or is he genuinely pulling for D'Angelo's shot to go down there? I was reading in the comments on youtube and one guy said watch at 1:08 on the clip. Actually to get your bearings start like at 1:05. Nick is deep ...centered behind the 3 point line and Russell is behind it on the top right of the arc at the top of the frame.
