I wonder what Philly will do if they are drafting before us, another big??? They kind of need a PG.

AT the very least, I think we end up 3rd...

I really believe Minny is about to go on a little win streak here. They've got Rubio back, they've got their man KG, and I think their mojo is going to change up a little. I see us "passing" them in the tankathon.

Third place finish. Only one time since '06 has a team with the third worst record finished outside the Top 5 and twice the third place team got the #1 pick... I'd like our odds in that spot.

Went back and looked as well...and since 06, it looks like the 4th spot has placed outside of the top 5 twice. So, while we may have a good chance to keep the pick, the 3rd would increase our odds of not only keeping our pick but landing in the top 3 and winning the lottery entirely.

Looking back just specifically at the top 5 since 06, I'll admit it does look very lackluster, quite frankly. I've maybe seen 1 or 2 classes in the top 5 where at the most there were 3 players out of the top 5 worked out...the history is not so inviting with top 5's when you look into it.

Philly looks like it's about too lose to Miami; game is in the 4th 10:45 left and they're down by 15. Dragic with 19 pts, 9 assts, 8/13 FG, FYI. He was horrible the first game he played in Miami, though.

Minny is up 1 on Houston; Go Minny. 3rd quarter.

Minnesota is going to lose; they fought, though.

I still don't want to do it. We'll end up with a Top 5 pick and I'd rather dedicate our time and resources to that guy than end up with Embiid who may or may not ever play and a guy lower down on our draft board.

If we end up with a higher pick than the Sixers, I want it. I'd rather have Towns, Okafor, Mudiay, Russell, or Johnson before having Embiid AND Winslow, Oubre, etc.

This is something we have to get used to. NY is abominable. They aren't passing us. Minny (while better than us at this point) would have to win several more games for us to pass them since Philly (especially now that they own our pick) is going to hand us two more wins in our games against them. It honestly looks like we're really locked in at the 4.

Here's a question. Would you take Embiid for our pick RIGHT NOW where we lift the top 5 restriction on it? It guarantees us a player, and guarantees Philly the pick. Not saying I would one way or the other, just curious.

Absolutely not. I'd rather see where we land and go from there. Hell, any one of those Top 5 guys is going to mean more to me than Embiid. Embiid might never play in the NBA if he can't get healthy. Back and lower body issues for a 7 footer? I don't like it and I LOVED watching this kind in college. He had/has a relatively fantastic post game in college.

Knowing his injury history and now questionable maturity, I'd roll the dice on Mudiay, Towns, Russell, Johnson, and certainly Okafor. Okafor might be better than Embiid regardless of the circumstances.

Yeah. I'm not saying I disagree, but the purpose of the hypothetical was the fact that at position 4 we have an 17% chance that we lose the pick completely. Do you roll the dice and believe we can't land in that 17%, or do you take the sure thing with Embiid? Sure thing as it pertains to a body we actually get.

You seen this team? I'm gonna take my chances. I find it very likely we keep that pick...

Read today that KG is already yelling at them in practice, especially Pek. I think the raised level of competitive juices can't help but carry over to the games. No, they're not going to go on some ridiculous run or maybe not even a winning streak, but it will matter.

I'd love to read about Pekovic just punching Garnett in the face. Pekovic is the biggest dude in the NBA. If there's a guy not to pick a fight with, it's probably him.
