Along those lines, we won that #1 pick with a coin flip. One coin flip defined a Lakers dynasty and brought us the guy who defined the Lakers for many, and still does for many I'd say. Magic could have been a Bull. That's the pressure I'm taking about, one wrong choice can change your franchise's history. How much do you think the Nets regret not taking Kobe, or the Hornets regret not picking him just to trade him after all.

We are so bad I'm thinking it could possibly be 17-18 wins.

I hear you. I just think the Wesley Johnsons are 50% situation and 50% mental. Obviously the innate talent is there. I think going to an organization like Minnesota stunted his growth and he's just not all there mentally to continue developing.

I think any of these Top 5 guys I think would develop well in LA. I don't know if we can necessarily screw this one up honestly. If it's a guy in the Top 5 I think we're going to end up with a really solid kid.

I like him a lot. If we end up with him, it'll be a great fit for Randle (and Kobe honestly).

He's really young and he needs to develop his body strength. I'd love to see him work with Kareem not necessarily just in the post, but about core strength and lower body strength. Towns is a little top heavy right now and that's a bad place to be for a big man.

I checked 3 mock drafts (NBA, Draftexpress and BBInsiders), and outside of our 1 pick, we take 9 different players with the remaining picks. So this is just wild guessing even at the time of the draft.
Like JC pick was bought for something like 2mil, so you never know what MItch and co will pull off...

Towns seems like a better fit next to Randle than Okafor. Okafor is skilled offensively but so is Randle, and they both aren't that great on defense. Towns, he can be that defensive anchor to pair next to an offensive Randle.

I agree. Even so though if we get the #1 pick I think we still take Okafor no doubt. He's going to be a 20/10 guy within a couple seasons. He's that good offensively and he's underrated on the glass. Towns could end up being better, but he could also end up being worse. Okafor is as close to a sure thing as I've seen in college.

If we end up with Towns though we did well.

okafor is the only surefire all star in this draft class. I'm scared of Towns tbh, he reminds me of Javale McGee for some reason.

Reminds me more of a young Joakim Noah. Seems fairly smart and you can definitely see development. I never got that from McGee.

I agree that Towns smarter than Javale (who isn't), it's their body movement that's pretty similar, I feel that Karl might have a tendency to be out of control. He is well hidden right now by Calipari who limits his time. I dunno just a bad feeling I guess.

I can only read the first paragraph, but man I hope Pelton is right. If we could get Stan Johnson at 24 I'd melt into happiness.

Calipari limits his time because they are stacked at the center position. He's actually been playing more due to the poor play of Dakari Johnson, and he's producing. The key for Towns is to end up in the 'right' situation with a quality organization that will take the time to develop him and bring him along slowly; similarly to what we did with Bynum.
Towns strengths read like a list of Randle's weaknesses. He could use work in the post but the foundation is there; he also has a very good touch from the perimeter extending all the way out to the 3-point line; good off the ball defender with the mobility to be on the Pick in Rolls, switch, and be highly effective. He has all the tools to be a top 5 pick and a great player for a long time if he works hard...

If you want I could post it, it's just a long read. I didn't want to post the whole thing unless you want it, then I'll gladly do it for you. No problem.

I see out of high school Bynum in Towns. That big awkward frame. That crazy length. A lot of potential, but it needs to be polished and he could be quite good.

Nah you're not supposed to post those articles and we're a reputable site, my friend. If you'd like to do a recap or something I think that's fair, but nobody is asking you to do any more work than you'd like to do.
