We better get more than a second rounder. Philly has a stockpile of first rounders including our own next season. We probably could at least snag one of those that may end up in the teens or 20s. They own OKCs next season as long as OKC doesn't make the playoffs. Maybe we get that one.

Exactly. Should LA pick Russell there could be a trade brewing...although the same could be said of Okafor in a DMC deal.

I don't know. I thought having the 27th fulfills the requirement of a first rounder.

It does, but typically you see these trades made after the pick is selected.

I think his point was more that if we take Russell and Philly was bluffing, they end up with Okafor who is the guy we wanted all along. Then we get "stuck" with Russell when Philly backs out.

Obviously though, the agreement is agreed on and signed before we make the pick/trade it. We take Russell with the understanding that Philly takes Okafor and we swap.

I'm of the opinion that such a swap won't happen. We'll just take Okafor at #2 and we'll pretend all this talk didn't happen.

We cant get cute with the pick, either were all in on okafor or we trade down with philly for some compensation and still end up with okafor.

Cant wait for tomorrow for this to be over with so we can know what were gonna do

It's so obvious he wants to be a Laker, mentioning the Lakers when asked about Minnesota.

Question is, how much does Okafor like the Kings? :envy:

Yeah, it seems just a bit coincidental that at the same time we are rumored to be now leaning to Russell, that suddenly the Sixers are rumored to favor Mudiay over Russell. Fighting smoke with smoke.

According to Pincus, we are working out Upshaw.

Am I the only one really bothered by the Cousins talk? After the last few years to come out with Randle, Okafor, and Clarkson with nice cap space is great. Trading some of these pieces and then taking back a 16 million dollar contract just doesn't seem like a good start. Ever since the lottery night I've been excited about the #2 pick, but at this point it is as if whoever we do decide to pick on we shouldn't be too excited for as he will probably get traded.
