I love Russell. If we were sitting in the 3rd spot I would be honking his horn every day. But now, I wish him well in the draft pick graveyard that is the Sixers roster.

Woj is such a beast writer... I don't even like Russell and that one got me fired up about the possibility of him.

Still, the reality for me is we've got Jordan Clarkson already and we've got no Center right now. Unless you think Russell is the next greatest PG, then there's no reason to pick him over Okafor. All things equal, Okafor is the better pick. The ONLY way to pick Russell is if you KNOW he's the next Curry or Magic or Nash.

Otherwise, pick the guy who wants to step into the shoes of Shaq, Wilt, Kareem, Pau, and Mikan (Honorable mention Divac). We've already got Clarkson who might or might not be better than Russell. We have nobody down low and while I don't like picking for need if you've got need AND a talented fit, why wouldn't you do it?

Likewise. I think I have been the commander of the Russell ship around here for a while LOL. But I always looking at it from the perspective that we would be picking 3 to 5. With the top two, I think you have to go big since both of the bigs are really talented this year.

Ryan Ward: In related news, an internet user by the name of Savory Griddles has kidnapped Rajon Rondo.

Ryan Ward. Doesn't he write for Lakers Nation, also known as read other writers and regurgitate?

Dragic is not a max player, Lakers please don't make him one.

Even Miami is rumored to be offering only 5/80 instead of his max.

Bank shots in close from a player like Okafor with his size, touch and coordination are a piece of cake. Needs to get his FT'S squared away though.

ESPN Radio was DESTROYING Okafor this morning.

    - out of shape
    - worst defender ever
    - not committed to basketball
    - the game has changed
    - he's a bust
    - can't make a FT
    - won't be on the court when we play GS

All that abuse, imagine if his team didn't win the National Title, due in large part to him. Wow.

If ESPN doesn't like him, it makes me like him even more.

    Let me guess: Cowherd?

I was skeptical when @abeer3 said Okafor the Laker was going to start getting hate, but wow was he as right as ever.

Of course. It was like Okafor shot his dog and banged his wife. Like dude, what's your problem with this guy? he even brought up being in SI holding tennis balls instead of a basketball, as if that proved he wasn't committed to basketball.

I didn't think the Cowherd interview was that bad in and of itself. Didn't here the rest of the show though.

Tomorrow's ESPN headline: Okafor loves tennis more than basketball.

If we're targeting Dragic and Rondo in FA, we better be drafting and KEEPING a SF at #27 or #34.

Do we have enough cap room to get Dragic+Danny Green?

    Dragic/Clarkson/Vet min
    Kobe/Clarkson/Brown or Ellington
    Green/Young/#27
    Randle/Black/Kelly
    Okafor/Upshaw/Sacre

Sounds like he's a Laker already with all the ESPN hate he is getting.

Some think Green might get $12M/year.

    Kobe/Young = 30
    Dragic/Green = 28/29?
    Randle/Black/Young = ~5
    Okafor/Upshaw/Sacre = ~6
I think we'd be over cap, but there might be a way to swing it. Not sure.

^ There'd probably have to be some sign and trade action in there.
