What I find interesting about this video is how many of Okafor's baskets came off of the break. For all the talk about him being a slow, plodding center who operates only in the post, he sure did get a lot of baskets in the open court.

Most of those probably came off a P&R turnover, but you're right.....he's no Yao Ming.

Regardless of how they came, he still sprinted down the court and was in a position for a dunk.

He needs to work some more on that bank shot, if he wants to be like Duncan... at least offensively.

Absolutely. I said it during the Finals: If Golden State had Marc Gasol instead of Andrew Bogut, Marc would be playing and this small ball thing wouldn't have happened.

I wonder how weird it'll be in here once Okafor goes #1 and the Lakers pick Towns. :giggle:

I'm officially joining the Okafor bandwagon. His lack of offense outside of the post and lack of defense scared me. A big that relies on the post while the rest of the league is going away from the post scared me. But I've now seen atleast a dozen people claim it's because there haven't been any great post-up bigs coming into the league and Okafor is that guy who will make every other team change their approach. Forget conforming to the trends. We are the Lakers. We set the standards. It's time to do it again.

Another thing to point out; incoming free agents know about this 'prodigy' Okafor who's been highly touted since HS. Point? Free agents will flock here to play with him...

This guy has been wearing the black tights with sparkling lights on them. [IMG] Have to assume he would only be doing that if it was making him better, faster and quicker. Go ahead and dream BIG here..... WHAT IF he does get (didn't someone say he tested [how do you test for that?]) for likelihood to grow another inch or so? [IMG] [IMG] With fully developed big man muscle strength not to peak for another 5 years or so. Per all my "science", I get on Lakers forums.... CL to LB. [IMG]

As long as the first 2 picks are Karl and Jah, you can't go wrong. Minny sees another Anthony Davis, we see another Timmy. Just don't do anything stupid and go with Porzingis.

Porzingis would be one of a handful of picks that would scare me. If we pick one of the international guys it should Hezonja or even Mudiay if we want to consider him an international prospect too. I won't say Porzingis can never be good, but I think he is a long way away.

I don't see Anthony Davis in Towns... I could see another Garnett-type of talent though. While different in approach I could see Towns as a high-post player with a nice shot from 16 feet to the three point line. Able to face-up from that distance and try to dribble around his defender as well. He's a great, great fit in Minny.

Okafor is the better fit here long-term I think.

Yeah in Porzingis I see a better Bargnani instead of a worse Dirk... If that makes any sense.

Porzingis may become the best player of this draft, the sky is a limit for him. We can't gamble though. If he's a bust (i think he's either an all star or another Bargs, no in between) we would be screwed.
