    BOOOO!! Not cool, even to make a point. That was such a horrendous moment that Ron Ron had to get in the shower with Kobe for crissakes. And he wasn't on our team. [IMG]

    KEVIN DING@KevinDing
    Lakers having 6'5" PG Emmanuel Mudiay in for predraft workout tomorrow morning. It's his chance to wow them into him being No. 2.

    Oh man. I hope it's nothing too serious. He's had off-the-court problems all along and a health issue could push him completely out of the draft.

    Then again, Upshaw fans this might be a blessing in disguise. There might be enough issues here he falls to #34 and the Lakers take a shot at him.

    No it's not, Ding. Go BIG or go home with #2. Ryan West was probably there when Jerry famously worked Kobe out for like 20 minutes and had seen enough. Ryan picked Kobe up and drove him to the workout, he said in the Time Warner segment they did on him. So I don't expect any of them to think Mudiay is the 2nd coming of that kind of player. They've seen it before.

    Let me reiterate, these are ceilings. If absolutely everything pans out, this is who their HIGH-level comparison may be. We did low as well.

    Towns= the Admiral?

    That's an interesting comparison.

    Hmm...I'm not seeing David Robinson in Towns.

    Robinson was very very athletic in his prime. And combined with that athleticism was very smooth and under control movements. He knew exactly when to jump, when to stay low, and when to explode. Like a guard in a big man's body. He scored 71 points in a game and quadruple doubles at the height of his powers.

    Towns looks and moves like a big man. Not like a guard.

    I think it's interesting that both Pincus and Kennedy are on Twitter saying team execs laugh at the idea that there is a big gap between Towns and Okafor. The prevailing thought online right now (especially with the Towns workout video out) is that the Wolves would be insane to take Okafor.

    If that's the case then Towns has a better chance of ending up being there for LA to grab then most are thinking.

    The thing is to me Towns and Okafor are just a debate about need. Towns should go one, not because I think he's so much better than Okafor. I think Towns fits better with what they've got going over there. Not just because they've already got two Centers in Pekovic and Dieng, but because they've got rangy athletes like Wiggins and LaVine. They've got a pick-and-roll PG like Rubio who would fit well with Towns... It just makes more sense to go that direction unless you can find someone willing to take Pekovic off your hands.

    I can see the Towns-Admiral comparison. Both are extremely mobile big guys. However, Robinson was a man when he entered the league completing a tour of duty in the Navy. I think Towns need to develop his body if he wants to follow Robinson. The guy was ripped.

    So...Timothe Luwawu for #34? Or perhaps a later "Buy it, Mitch" pick? Any interest?
