I like a lot of what I've seen from Upshaw, but there has to be some concern about whether or not he can handle living in LA. If he is still there at 27 it's worth the risk though.

Defintely. But I think Real is right. (I placed that in a different color to show I surrender) Upshaw will likely be gone by 20 at this point. That 27th pick is looking less and less likely that any of the potential "steals" will be there. Justin Andersen, Upshaw, Hollis-Jefferson, Tyus Jones are now all well out of reach it seems at 27. I wonder if anyone in the 18-21 range would be willing to trade their pick for the 27th and 34th. Probably not.

I'm chill. We heisted Jordan Clarkson in the 2nd round last year. I'm good with keeping all three picks and letting Ryan West earn his Daddy's respect with finding us a couple of solid rotation players at 27 and 34.

Love this kid. Smart that he is working toward developing a face up 4 game for the next level. With his shot and smarts and work ethic he could approach becoming a poor man's Dirk.

Good interview. Hope he finishes growing up. Sounds like he is starting to get it.

Frank was my favorite NCAA player throughout the season.

No one really took notice to him until the tournament and thinks he some tourney story, but no, he did this all season long.

He's such a skilled big, he reminded me of a poor man's Gasol. He's got great post moves, can put the ball on the floor, and has a fantastic jumper.

It's definitely nervous time. Just 5 more days and 50% of the speculation in this thread may be over. :D

Cauley-Stein on Lakers: "It starts on defense. So they're trying to build a team that's gonna play defense." He is obviously a top defender.

I have Willie Cauley-Stein higher on my version of the Lakers' board than what I think is the Twitter consensus

Worth noting that Lakers interviews are being conducted by Mitch Kupchak and Ryan West. Jim Buss here but sits those out.

Cauley-Stein on Julius Randle: "When he's healthy and ready to go again, you're going to see a different level."

    Bill Oram@billoram · 1h1 hour ago
Cauley-Stein said Randle in "unique situation" where he got to watch and "learn under Kobe."

    Bill Oram@billoram · 1h1 hour ago
Cauley-Stein: "To learn under Kobe and to really dissect what's going on there and then now that he's healthy can put it in his game..."

FWIW, Pincus who is close to the team, and what I could kind of speculate says the Lakers board would be something like the following:

    1. Towns
    2. Okafor
    3. Russell
    4. Willie-Cauley Stein
    5. ? Could be Winslow/Mudiay.

I'm fairly certain that's what he thinks the top 4 is on the Lakers board...

    @forumbluegold 4 after 2 bigs, Russell

This was in reference to what Pincus tweeted about WCS; said he's 4 after the two bigs (Okafor, Towns) and Russell

I assume the Lakers wouldn't just leak their board like that and give away who they are prioritizing, or they are and disguising their dark horse prospect like a Hezonja or something. Hell, we haven't even gone through workouts yet lol.

The top 2 are obvious for Okafor/Towns, but it'll be a secret on who they really have their eye on between Mudiay/Russell/Hezonja/WCS/Winslow.

The Lakers can come out with:

    1. Towns
    2. Mudiay
    3. Russell
    4. Okafor

and mess with the Philly and NY boards.

I keep saying it, but Hezonja is going to be that dark horse come draft day.

That'd be weird to me. I like Cauley-Stein but not before Stan Johnson, Justise Winslow, and Emmanuel Mudiay.

Then again last season I remember Ramona reporting that the Lakers had Dougie McBuckets higher on their draft board than Marcus Smart.
