And if we draft Russell, with Middleton, they could emerge as one of the most potent and deadly 3-point shooting backcourts in the league.

I'd throw everything possible to get Middleton... He's priority #1 because he's attainable and not just a pipe dream.

I wonder what his market value is. Would you throw the max at him?

His max is just over 14M. That's probably right around the limit of what he's worth under the current cap, but when the cap jumps up 25-30% next summer, there's no question he'll be worth it.

I would. His max is what, 16-17mil at most, that will be a bargain when the cap spikes. Problem is that he's restricted and the Bucks are capable of matching.

I think you can get away with a Top 3 pick, especially if Philly is in the Top 2. Who knows how they're going to draft when they already have Noel and Embiid, signs point to nabbing Russell or Mudiay. If we're 4, we might get away with trading up somehow to that 2 spot. #4 and #27 for the #2? I'd do that if it gave us that shot at Okafor/Towns.

You're right, I was going off this years numbers when I guessed his max was around 14M. For 15-16 his max starts at 15.8M.

Philly actually worries me. Their strategy seems to be draft the player they feel has the most star potential and worry about who they need to trade to create a starting role later. Rinse and repeat until something sticks. Although that isn't all bad, if they draft Okafor or Towns that probably means Embiid will be available via trade.

    Do it Mitch!

Yeah, it's impossible to predict what Philly will do with their pick.

Sorry guys, but what makes everyone so sure Middleton will leave the Bucks? He sounds like he likes them since they gave him a shot after the Pistons. He likes Jason Kidd. The Bucks are already saying they will match any offers.

Every small market team has a breaking point. I'm not sure the Bucks are ready to dish out $15+ million for just a solid role player.

I'm honestly not sure how they can't resign him at this point. He appears to be their best player. Put him and Jabari Parker together in a still weak Eastern conference and who knows what they could be in a few more years.

Middleton was a huge reason why I won the championship in my fantasy league this year. I'd love to have him on our squad.

the bucks could sell themselves on giannis/middleton/parker as a 2/3/4 lineup with mcw and a bulky center going forward. i don't think they can let an asset at that level just walk. i mean, they're not the lakers...

But I'm thinking the same thing. I don't see how they can let him just walk. I'm not getting my hopes up on Middleton at all.

Deandre + sf from the draft or Towns/Okafor + Middleton :).

Middleton + Okafor is my dream offseason. But I realize Middleton may be untouchable in the Bucks eyes. I think Lakers fans need to prepare ourselves for the possibility that Swaggy P is our starting sf on opening day (if not starter, getting 36 minutes a game there). There are a few scenarios where that comes to fruition.

The Bucks largest contract going into next year is OJ Mayo at 8 mil and are projected to have around 15 million in cap space this summer.

Teams do make dumb decisions sometimes, but I think the chances of them not matching an offer on Middleton are pretty slim and get even slimmer with every great playoff game he has.

I think they are going to match Middleton for any contract anybody throws at him. A lot of buzz going around about giving him a max contract. Hayward and Parsons got the max. I'm hearing that Draymond Green will get a max so I can see Middleton getting that as well.

Yeah. A couple months ago, he was kind of "secret good." Now he's overtly good and playing his way into a max deal. Leonard, Butler, Draymond Green and Middleton all look to be max players at this point, especially with the cap going up. The Bucks are starting to look dangerous with Middleton at sg, Parker at sf and the Greek Freak at pf. Imagine if they go out and get Asik this offseason. They could just sign Asik first, then max out Middleton.

    Asik
    Greek Freak
    Parker
    Middleton
    MCW

    Pretty damn good team.
