I think Swaggy is probably gone more due to him and Byron than anything else. A part of me would like him to stay though. I'm also not sold that the guys available are an upgrade.
I think once the decision was mad to sign Lou to a multi-year agreement, Nick's fate was sealed. Essentially, Lou is Nick's replacement, and I think an upgrade in the 6th man department. Our priority is finding a defensive wing right now.
I like Young too. Good with the catch and shoot and can create off the dribble. He wants to be here, I give him that. Scott is so old school sometimes that part of me wishes he'd lighten up. On the other hand, Young needs to act more professional instead of trying to draw attention to himself. Both men have to achieve a middle ground.
Is there anyway that we are "done" with FA? Holding at hope we can trade Sacre and Kelly...seems like Young is a piece they would want to trade as well.
I feel like for this young squad, Caron would be the best fit. Kobe would be in great spirits, he can mentor some of the young guys, gives us another leader in the locker room, and he's a savvy two way vet. For the price, he'd be a great addition.
LMAO Clippers picking up our scraps like always. Lee traded to C Bags sucks for Lee big time, Warriors are probably going to dump Wallace. Aaron Brooks agreed to one year deal with the Bulls. Mavs resign Charlie Villanueava.
He's a good defensive sf but isn't a great shooter. Also not a bad locker room guy, I wouldn't mind him as our sf.
Mitch turned Hill, Davis, Johnson into Hibbert, Bass, and Williams. Come on now. That's a MASSIVE upgrade. If we can flip Lin for some assets (notably Justin Anderson) and keep/replace swaggy with a Caron or Mbah a Moute, that would be a solid offseason imo. Definitely 8/10.
If we landed Anderson for Lin, I'd defecate in my pants. Last year we ended up with Clarkson, Randle, and Black - arguably three top 15 rookies. This year we'd end up with Russell, Upshaw, and Anderson - two lottery level talents and one great role player; and we've also got Nance and Brown, guys I see already as potential role players.
We can waive them, but I believe their salaries still count towards our cap. It's better if we trade them. The impression I get is that by incuding Sacre/Kelly in the trade you get a small amount of salary off the books. Taking on Hibbert will cost about 18 million due to his trade kicker. Then we have 4 million left. If we trade out Kelly/Sacre that gives us pretty much exactly the space needed to add Williams, Hibbert, and Bass for the Room Exception. Swaggy going out would create another 5 million bucks too, but it's unclear what the FO would do with that money.
