With the team we will be trotting out there, the pick may be safe. Just too young to make a major impact in a tough western conference. If Kobe goes down early, we will again struggle our way to 20 to 25 wins absent some major unforeseen move by the front office.

It's theirs if it falls outside the top 3. Top 3 and it's ours.

The pick is top 3 protected. There is a legit chance we keep it at this point.

    We got lucky this year
Next year we'd end up like the knicks stuck looking from the outside in

Everyone hates us no way we get a top pick next year

We could end up with a top 3 pick and have it taken away for basketball reasons

If.kobe goes down he should just retire

I think this is it for Kobe. A great career, but I don't see his body holding up.

    Yup

For his sake i'd love for him to go all out this year and go out on his own terms. Id hate to see him retire because of injuries

Last of a dying breed, all these new gen players are soft and lack heart and the drive to be great

Knowing 24's competitive spirit and stubborn persona, he will try to will himself...try to do too much, yes, that is a real possibility. Scott will not sit him down...regulate his minutes and there we go.

I hope so, but Scott seemed more than willing to let him run himself in the ground last season. Hopefully we have learned our lesson.

    Copied from another forum

Nice read on kevin durant where he says
Himself, Bron, Melo & PG have done nothing compared to his Mentor Kobe"

I think that that excuse has been saturated

The reason is because the FO doesn't have a clear cut laid out plan for the next few years and it turns off the free agents and the media spins it and makes it seem no one wants to be here because of kobe

Absolutely. They will have to find a new scape goat after he leaves.

I remember this cat with Milwaukee. He had potential but his career was fraught with controversies. Maybe the Lakers are thinking a center by committee approach now. Black, Upshaw, Sacre [lord...].

Larry Sanders quit bball to smoke weed. Said he needs it for his anxiety. Not sure how long he'd last in the league.
