Started reading that and gave up. It's writtten by Baxter Holmes who sucks and I don't want to hear anymore about our "3 year plan".
If we land LMA, Mitch would immediately become the favorite to win the GM of the Year award. Because I can't fathom one logical basketball reason he'd choose us over the Spurs.
Is this unlikely scenario who takes over? Jeannie? Does that mean the end of mitch? If it's not a total change then its irrelevant for the team
If Jim was asked this and said that right as we were trading for Chris Paul, he probably wasn't wrong. If he said it during the Dwight offseason or last offseason, well then he's a clueless and delusional employee. If Jim is fired who takes over anyway? Nobody I can think that can fix this mess any quicker. And I'd hate to think of what it would do to the Buss' kids relationships, they both probably agreed to it publicly because they didn't think it would actually happen.
Kings offered Wes Matthews 4 years $64 mil, 16mil per year....... thats near max for a guy coming from an Achilles injury..... insane!
Damn, was away today and am 40 pages behind. My broad comments/thoughts before diving in... -congrats Davis! While we're waiting for the inevitable rejection from the first tier guys, everyone else is making other plans, even our own FAs. Riley can meet with LMA in LA and sign Wade at the same time. Must be nice having a front office capable of multi tasking. -Bucks, Pacers, and Pistons all got better. Bucks are going to be very good in a few years if they can keep that team together, might even have HCA this season. Ellis and PG 13 could make the Pacers relevant again if Hibbert finds his balls (if he doesn't go to Dallas ). Found it comical that he turned down SAC and the chance to reunite with Rondo after they got taken by Philly in the cap clearing deal. SVG getting Morris and Granger for a 2nd rounder was a bargain, shored up their perimeter (don't sleep on Shanley Johnson). -I wish we didn't even take the 2nd meeting with LMA. Reeks of desperation and being pathetic. Not a good look. It's like the asking out the prom queen in front of the whole school, getting vehemently shot down and then crawling back to her the next day asking her if she's sure. -don't see us getting RoLo, too many teams quicker with the trigger (NY) when they don't get the big they want. -Amare is as good as I think it gets for us. And he's a step down from the Booz. I know I'm forgetting some stuff...
Is it bad I already want Parsons as our next GM? He's only 25 and he's done a better job recruiting than we have. He definitely has a bright post playing career in the front office.
Oh, ok then, yeah, he's dumb and delusional. Way too much faith in the Laker name and history, doesn't seem to see us striking out on every big FA we're after. But good post, JSM, I'm glad the East is improving, Cavs need competition. Indy and Milwaukee are improved for sure. Heat are as well if they get Bosh back healthy.
