Yeah, get that completely. But for starters with LA we needed to show him a quality 5 plan with who was going to man it. He says no, now we still need a quality 5 plan and don't have him. Quality bigs come around less frequently and we never draft at the 2 when one is there. That said, if Russell is transcendent with his passing from day one and makes everyone on this team better plus is clutch with his shot himself then we just need good bigs because he'll make them better. At the least, they should have locked up Davis for that kind of money.

We have already lost out on pretty much every other option outside of Koufos. Might as well go all in on Aldridge and Jordan at this point.

You mean you don't like watching LeBron lose in the finals?

Historically speaking, Ireland only spews positives about the Lakers FO.

If he thinks it's a pity meeting I think there's a higher chance of it being a pity meeting than what I thought before.

I don't think MIA can get LMA at all. Pretty sure teams over the tax apron can't receive a player in a Sign and Trade.

Mason and Ireland are saying that we're wasting time while guys like Afllalo and Davis get snatched up. Same thing we're saying.

Of course I like watching him lose but I fear he'll eventually break through again. I'm also interested in what happens if Bosh/Wade win a ring without Lebron.

I think we did have a plan to get a big in free agency, but just have completely crapped our pants trying to execute it. I still like the Russell pick though and hope he doesn't end up taking heat for the front office's failures in free agency.

He shouldn't. Nevertheless, he has pressure on him to perform and well his rookie season. Russell, Clarkson, and Randle.

If Ireland the Laker company man feels dubious then... Hell, even the organizations go to feel-good mainstays are dissatisfied then we all's know things ain't right.

Anywhos: Staubach to Pearson...Flutie to Phelan...Stewart to Westbrook...Russell to Tate.

Reminder. In 2016 we will be going up against the HEAT for free agents. Oh and every other team that magically gets a max cap space.

I guess. Pretty sure he could have gotten a similar deal from us or elsewhere.

^Sigh... I don't get why two, maybe three "solid" signings aren't considered as valuable as one big "splashy" one. The problem is that being the Lakers, we're expected to trot out that one star to stay relevant and keep behinds on the seats...

Yeah. He needs to show he was worthy of the pick more now than ever.

Yep. Lakers FO keep bringing up "cap space" and "flexibility". Yes, that is nice, but every year, there are at least 5 teams with cap space for a max contract. I'm going to say that next year, there will be at least 10 teams with cap space for a max because Durant will be available. Things are already this crazy with LMA. Imagine next year. Oh man...

Ed was a real bright spot for us last year. One of the few. I wish him well. I also don't blame him for not wanting to play the waiting game. It's like we asked him out to the prom as our fall back date if the really hot girl turns us down.

I understand his point. Too much money to wait around and all of a sudden the cap space has dried up and you're playing for near minimum on a team you really want no part of.
