all they've done is show crappy presentations and sign Sacre..it's day 2 and we went from talkin about LeMarcus Aldridge to Koufus

i think its a little justified that Laker fans aren't sitting all happy right now

It seems like we are heading to the inevitable Ed Davis/Jordan Hill plus giving 1 year deals to 1st round rejects. who can we get for those 1 year deal players for cheap? Derrick Williams? Beasely? Flynn? Biyombo?

It's actually 85-25 Clips-Mavs with the Lakers having a negative-10 chance at signing him. ;)

Magic burned bridges with the comments in the media about the Busses and their ownership, true or not that stung so he's been banished.

The point many (including the Lakers) is making is that if Lamarcus is willing to meet with you, do you turn him down or do you go to the meeting? What's it say if we turn down these FAs in meetings? What would fans say if we heard "Aldridge was willing to meet with the Lakers, but the decided to sign Monroe instead". We'd probably flip out. "WHY WOULD YOU SETTLE FOR ____ WHEN YOU COULD GET _____?!?!"

    Right?

My thing is: these meetings are going so poorly for us, they're not worth the time. Either our sales pitch is awful or these guys simply don't want to come here. That's fine. Then you BETTER have a backup plan that doesn't involve fielding the same team that just lost over 50 games last year. If their plan is to keep waiting around, they're going to wait forever. Dallas learned that in one off-season. Here we are on year three.

Still a lot of good players on the market that can fill in for either a wing or center. Danny Green, Demarre Carroll, Tobias Harris, ED DAVIS, Kosta Koufos, Corey Brewer, idk I'm just scratching the surface

Having cap next year doesn't mean jack. Have to build a roster with good players in it to entice players.

So it's come to this...Koufas who's likely to stay in Memphis after they lock up Gasol, or trade for Hibbert or Lee and their expiring deals in a salary dump...or Hill and Davis.

Knicks have growing interest in Lee. Teams are starting to get ready to pull the trigger on salary dumps.

For me best scenario would be:
1: Trade for Hibbert + signing Ed davis and KJ Mcdaniel
    2: Sign Tobias Harris+ Biyombo/Ed Davis

Actually I think Koufos would bolt quickly to a team willing to offer him a starting position. He wants to play and he's not getting many minutes behind Randolph and Gasol.

good perspective here; i even got caught up in the moment, forgetting that no one thought aldridge was giving the lakers a meeting--much less the first one--a couple weeks ago.

it doesn't take the edge off the pitch failing to meet expectations of the prospective client, but it does put a different spin on things: as big a mess as the lakers have become, post-veto, they still get the first meeting with the offseason's biggest FA. or: eat a penis, kelly dwyer.

That's why we haven't heard much from Harris' this off-season. Orlando has all the power in RFA.

Pacers have been rumored to be interested in the likes of Monta Ellis and Rodney Stuckey this summer. If they're looking for instant scoring, as their interests would suggest, packaging a guy like Nick Young to them in exchange for a Hibbert salary dump would be a dream scenario for us.
