FA didn't go the way the FO wanted obviously. I'm not sure they give up on a "nuclear" turnaround attempt. Hope the young guys have short leases. My guess is that we are moving on to trade possibilities now. That means that I'm sure we are looking once again at Cousins. That may make me sick....

For everyone saying sign Harris (and I'm one of them), announcing a deal before July 9th just gives ORL more time to plan their response. Contracts can't be officially signed until then, so that's when the 3-day timer would start...well, actually it would start when ORL receives the contract. So yeah, this isn't going to be over quickly in spite of how fast everything moved today.

I'm not on the Harris bandwagon. He put up great stats on a horrible team for 3 yrs and that team does not want him, Why?

Every time a player/agent leaks that the Lakers are interested in them, you immediately release a press statement that you are not, abd that you have no intention of meeting with them.

When you are at the table with the biggest FA on the market, you hand him the offer sheet and tell him to sign it. When He says he has to think about it, you pull it back. When his people leak that they're leaning some other way, you press release that you're not interested in him, have pulled the offer, and that he's not Laker material.

You do it to the biggest FA every year until they get the point.

Every year you tell prospective FAs that you're interested in them (but only the ones you're actually interested in). Let their agents come to you to for a meeting. And you don't bend your schedule to fit theirs.

Why are we assuming that we're out of the mix for DJ & Monroe?

Yeah, I was hoping since there was no buzz around Asik that he might be an option. But nooooooo.

Well i don't remember the last person they paid. They almost always let everyone go thats why they're always getting good draft picks

great, another team with money to burn now. Even though Cow Town is a terrible mess that makes them dangerous in FA as a wildcard. Also how many f***ing bigs do you need Philly?

We low balled Monroe, he's not happy...Jordan has expressed little interest in the Lakers, and at this point I don't see the Lakers wanting to max a guy with 0 offensive talent. He would of been a good match with Aldridge/ Love, but ....

Yet if he was a solid player, good locker room guy, leader...why would they let their best player walk, just my thoughts on him.

Rondo and Ellis. Umm...should someone tell them that Dallas tried that already?

The well of quality FAs is drying up really quickly and there are a lot of teams that still need to fill in their roster. We are going to be battling for scraps with a bunch of other teams. Not confident at all.

The fact that the Lakers meeting was 2 hours, just like the Aldridge meeting, doesn't necessarily mean they are using the same presentation but it's not encouraging either.

We have no evidence that the Laker's Low Balled Monroe.. Just an unconfirmed report that it wasn't a Max offer.. He's not a Max guy.
I don't think DJ would be coming here for his offense. We need a rim protector & he's the best in the league. Getting DJ & LMA both on this team was always pure pipe..

I know today was rough, but I've seen no indication that either one of these guys is off our radar.
Albeit, DJ would be stupid to leave the Clips with them Signing Stephenson & PP.
