i don't know why, but parsons is "bros" with lots of guys. his recruiting ability is a big part of why the lakers spent the last two years in the lotto.

cuban's a big douche, but again, players seem to like him and want to play in dallas.

carlisle is the second best coach in the nba, imo. has been very good for a very long time.

i'm guessing the list for jordan is:

    dallas/lac

    lakers

other teams like toronto and milwaukee that are cute for trying.

Especially someone "looking to have a bigger role." That ain't happening if no one can get you the ball.

harris and whomever they get with the rest of their space (lin? mo williams?). it was harris and jameer nelson's corpse throwing up all those lobs last year. oh, and parsons--they run him as the ballhandler in the pick and roll some.

ellis almost never threw them, and rondo seemed to be actively trying to tank their season.

do people really think that everything jordan gets is because paul dribbles around, draws 4 defenders and lofts a perfect pass? c'mon, folks. system and spacing can produce offense, too. and having a giant freak athlete on the receiving end of passes makes them more successful.

Exactly. I think the whole Texas tax incentive gets overblown. At the end of the day, the reason a place like LA is so much pricier is because it's a desirable place to live. You look at the situation as a whole, and the question is still would you rather have tens of millions of dollars and live in Texas, or have tens of millions of dollars and live in Los Angeles? Call me biased but seems like a pretty easy pick to me.

Just saw they had some more cash available after they sign Jordan. Still though, I'm not sure the team strikes all that much confidence in me. I don't think it's as good a fit as say either of the LA teams.

Nah...Romo is not at the Matt Schaub level. :) A few notches below maybe...

Mavericks are at full reboot mode. Nowitzki is aging with no other second option after him. Everyone it seems is looking elsewhere. I hope they suck for a long time [to borrow a Cuban]...

    Let's do it this way...

If we get X (biggest name), who's the Y you want to pair with them?
    1. Aldridge
    2. Love
    3. Jordan
    4. Harris
    5. Chandler
    6. You tell me

    For me, it's...
    1. If we add LMA I'd like to see us add a defensive-minded player, and I'd be happy with either a PG or a Big, but I'd lean toward a Big. If we could snake back Davis I'd do it. Otherwise I'd add CJ Watson and Sam Dalembert.

    2. If we add Love, we definitely need a defensive-minded player. I'd go for Davis, Dalembert, Watson in that order.

    3. If we land Jordan I'd be looking for a couple of promising adds in the backcourt - KJ McDaniels, CJ Watson, and Wayne Ellington, likely in that order.

    4. If we add Harris it's more complex; I'd probably see about Biyombo. If we could move Young, things would get interesting.

    5. I'd go for a Wing - and I'd try to move Young. If we could move Young, I'd try for Harris. All. Day. Long.

    That last team would be...
    Russell/Clarkson
    Kobe/Clarkson/J.Brown
    Harris/Nance/A.Brown
    Randle/Black/Kelly
    Chandler/Upshaw/Sacre

Then look for Durant in the following year.
    Russell/Clarkson
    Durant/Clarkson
    Harris
    Randle
    Chandler

But the versatility of that team is ridiculous.

That would be a good selling point... Paul has endorsed Russell. Given the history and connections, the Bayou has moved to Staples even if one party is with Uncle Fester.

It's quite clear options 1, 2, and 4 opens a whole new can of worms. Jordan and Chandler are the most logical choices.

Did you ever at some point want Jahlil Okafor? He's basically the same guy.

Even though he isn't the best fit, his "max" deal is about $16 mil. That means he is going to be on a good contract regardless, which makes him a tradeable asset if it doesn't work out.

Yea but on a rookie contract

If we had okafor we wouldnt be looking at him we'd be looking for guards

With russ in the fold we have to be looking for guys that fit and will be attractive to FA next off season

This guy doesnt really do it for me
