http://www.cbssports.com/article/amp/25566168/ Damn that's a shame. Hope it's not that severe. If it is I don't see how the Warriors can win a title without him. It would be a travesty if they lose out on their shot at making history because of an injury to the best player in basketball. The Warriors bowing out early may increase our chances at getting Luke, but still never wanna see something like this under any circumstances.
Damn, that opens the door for the Clippers to get to the Western Conference Finals. That's a huge blow. He wouldn't be back till Game 5 or so:
Realistically an MCL strain could take much longer to heal. It's a ligament - and an important one. Doesn't look so good for GS, IMO.
I hope Blazers can push the Clippers a bit before the second round so that Curry can come back in time for that series. If not, I hope the Clippers lose anyway. Losing to the Curry-less Warriors would just add to their long list of Clipperesque achievements.
Shaun Livingston has been great all season. He's no Steph, but he is without question the best backup point guard in the game and he's playing like a starter. He's not gonna make things easy for Chris Paul. With Steph they'd probably win in five. Without him I still think they could win in seven. Livingston needs to live in the post because they have nobody to guard him. Draymond and Blake is a wash. Small lineup obviously won't be as effective with no Steph. Bogut is a great, great defender and defensive anchor so I don't see Jordan being able to dominate him like some seem to think. Clark should get extra minutes and he's played well when given the opportunity. They definitely need Steph to beat San Antonio though.
That's not too bad, Doc. Thanks for that. Of course we'll have to see how severe it is and what the update is.
This is bad news, if he can't get back for the Clippers series I don't think they win. That leaves it all on SA to beat the Cavs. I said all season the Warriors were one Steph injury away from the Cavs winning the title, I didn't think it would actually happen. This sucks, I just hope he can be back in 2 weeks and that's not too late.
I am rooting for Golden State to win it all again so that news isn't very good. Maybe they can ride it out until Curry is back to full strenght. In order, I don't want to see the Clippers, Cleveland, San Antonio or Miami to take it.
My sister is an x-ray tech in SF. She didn't do his MRI, but said 5 weeks is what it takes to be 100%. Of course, he'll be getting round the clock treatment. I think 3 weeks is a realistic timeframe, as the Warriors announced. But, will that be enough time for them to get back in the series (assuming they're down) ??? I dunno. But I'd hate for them to lose this way. I don't wish injury on anyone except Lebron. Just kidding. Sort of.
Here's a podcast with Dr Robert Klapper. He's a huge Lakers fan, Orthopedic surgeon and he was on ESPN talking about the Curry injury. Main point out of it - He thinks Curry will be back in 5-7 days based on what he observed from the injury to Steph leaving the building. That's great news.
