I don't think he is. He was a smart player, he learned under Phil, he's learned under Kerr, he's more qualified than players that went straight from the game to coaching like Kidd and Fisher. He hasn't put in a lot of time, but he's put in more than some. If we can snatch him now while he's hot and before he's taken, I think we have to do it. Kobe will be gone next season, so there's no chance he's undermine Luke, I think he'd have instant credibility with what he did in GS, and considering how young our team is. Players seem to love him too.

Just a little tidbit: Ramona reporting that if Jim steps down next year, Mitch is unlikely to stay.

All good points, but I'd like someone that's proven. I think he's a bit overrated for his interim stint. The system was already there in GSW and they were winning regardless of who was coaching.

Don't bring my buzz down man, lol. If Phil comes here next season and brings Kurt Rambis with him as head coach we'll be in a worse position than we were yesterday.

On top of that, Mark Jackson is a judgmental religious nut who alienates any non-Christian players.

A little overrated? Maybe. But he did a great job. Managed a team with stars that could have gotten big heads and wanted to get theirs, but they didn't, they stuck to the game plan. You think B0ron gets that same team to the same record that Luke did? I sure don't, not even close. As far as experience, we've done that, it's not working. Brown got Cleveland to the Finals and had a great win loss record. 'Antoni had great success in Phoenix. B0ron got teams to the finals. Look at some of the hires that have been the best the past few years. Assistants, new guys, not retreads. I'm tired of playing coaching musical chairs, swapping the same coaches with other teams. We need a fresh approach and a guy who can be here for years to come, build this team and grow with them. Can't be another placeholder.

    Yes.

He had a monster record this season as a fill in, but that's all about the roster. Stay away. Could be great, potentially, but that's really stretching it considering the sample size. We need someone far more experienced in player development.

This is by far the best news I've heard in a while!!!! I think we need to go with a fresh new coach no more old school coaches, with a young team like this you need new school

Sources told ESPN that the Lakers had a team option on Byron Scott for next season because his contract included performance incentives the last two years that he did not meet

I didn't know we had the team option because of performance incentives. Well at least all Byron's losing led to something good.

Interesting.. So was B0ron tanking, or was he actually coaching trying to win and save his job. If he had performance incentives to keep his job, and a healthy roster, and that's the result we saw, wow he's a worse coach than I thought. This makes me question the theory that Mitch instructed him to tank for the pick, maybe he really is that stupid.

Anyone can win with talent (see T. Lue for example). IMO, Luke isn't ready. I won't be upset if we get him, but I'd rather we get an experienced coach. Thibs would've been perfect. Day late, dollar short.

If we get Rambis I'm gonna lose my sh.....
