I'm not going to lie, I don't like Brooks at all. He essentially just sucked up to his two stars and let them run iso all the time. Brooks is really just Byron Scott with better people skills. I mean, if Durant wanted him, I'd hold my nose and take him. But Brooks being off the market actually makes me happy because it means we can't sign him ourselves. Now, JVG, Luke, and Ollie are my choices. And in that order.

I'm not a Luke fan at all. He drove a Lamborghini 90mph, I'm not impressed.

Scotty Brooks developed Westbrook and Ibaka past their initial ceiling. That's important to me.

Scott Brooks has agreed to coach in Washington. I'm not even upset honestly, I don't think he's a great coach. My thing isn't about who or who isn't available right now, my thing is just get B0ron out of here. I don't care if we have our D-League coach as head coach next season, I don't care if it's Madsen. I don't care if we go into next season with NO coach at all, I genuinely think that's preferable to B0ron being here, that's how much harm I feel he is doing. Screw this FO if they don't fire him. I put up with this season for Kobe, and because I thought as soon as the season ended that B0ron would be fired in disgrace. Now that I haven't gotten that payoff, I'm beyond pissed. Get him out, get him away from our youth, get him away from free agent pitch meetings, get his stink of failure away from the franchise, out of the building.

Yeah I'm not upset about Brooks going to Washington....but of course if Washington signs Durant, I will no doubt look at this as another missed opportunity by our FO.

I don't understand what the HELL we're waiting for? We need to sit down with Byron immediately before Luke is off the table too!!! I don't care about Mark Jackson and JVG....if Luke is interviewing with other squads, that means he's serious about coaching next season...which is something our stupid Lakers FO has kept saying he is probably not going to pursue until NEXT summer.

If Jeanie is trying to sabotage Jim and Mitch by supporting the decision to KEEP Scott, then we are in much bigger trouble than I thought. We are in deep sh!t, but this would be 6 feet deep in a coffin if it's true.

We only talk to coaches with worse records than Byron. Since that is no one, we don't speak to anyone.

Well it's way too quiet so I can't make anything of this. It's not like they supported Byron publicly through this. But that meeting was supposed to take place this week? I guess there is a major power fight within the Busses and therefore no meeting ... this better come to sense soon. That farewell game joy is starting to fade away for me ...

I'm petrified with how this coaching situation is playing out. If history repeats itself, we'll wait too long to act, then watch Luke take a job somewhere else while we whiff on all major free agents, only to fire Byron 5 games into next season then hire Vinny Del Negro

I'm way past "starting to" man. As a Kobe fan, I'll treasure that game for the rest of my life. As a Laker fan? I'm pretty pissed off that they're still posting tweets about it on the Lakers twitter feed. I'm sick of that ****. They propped that man up all season long, basically setting him up for failure in every away arena with their sky high expectations. They've given the fans three straight seasons under 30 wins, the last one under 20 wins. There's absolutely no reason for hope whatsoever right now since we're not even guaranteed our pick.

I can't imagine what is going on behind closed doors right now that would delay this process. The fact that no one can get a read on the FO used to be so beguiling and fun, but now? Now they can't get a read because there's nothing to read. Just three voices in a big empty room yelling at each other while the ceiling falls down around them.

And what is likely, especially if we lose Bass and Black and no free agents of note want to play for this cat .....

...... is that (including not having Kobe Bryant on the team) it's very possible next year's squad could be "weaker" than this year's team, save for what progress the young guys make on their own. Sure as s*** no help coming from the coach, their leader, who instead talks about grit, foxholes and other ridiculous wannabe drill sergeant speak, and is constantly calling them out in the media when everyone that knows basketball and follows the Lakers can tell HE is the biggest impediment to progress we have on the team.

I am holding onto a slim, insignificant shred of hope that since Byron is "Laker Family" that they are leaking these things about supporting him, deliberating about it, etc. so it looks like they really, really had a hard time with this decision (knowing full well he was gone back in January), but in the end they felt it was time for a fresh face. But even if that's the case, the "Don't hurt Byron's feelings" dance has cost us a shot at Thibs.
