I thought Clarkson showed some growth late in the game last night, but he's certainly seemed to plateau a bit which is unfortunate. I had hoped for some better growth defensively over the course of the season. Offensively he is going to be able to get his whenever he needs to. He's got the ability to get to the rim at will and he's a pretty good passer too.

I still think he CAN be a starter, but I'm also leaning towards him being the bench spark.

Yeah, I think JC has kinda become what he is going to be, but that's not a bad thing at all, he's pretty damn good. He produces, and he's reportedly not going to cost a ton of money to keep, and as usual we have to remember we drafted the guy 46th overall. If you get a player like this with the 46th pick, one of the best in his entire draft class, you did well.

Clarkson would be a good sixth man off the pine. I would think he wouldn't care either.

What's crazy is even if he's a 6th man, he might still be a Top 10 pick from that draft.

I have to see him in a proper system with a little education on defensive fundamentals before I make a determination on whether he's a starter or 6th man. He's been misused, played with two other heavy ball dominant guys in Lou/Kobe and has been effective and consistent all season for the most part, IMO.

Random fun fact: This time last year Clarkson made a game winner in OT to beat Philly. Pretty cool that Randle follows with a game winner to beat the Heat in OT a year later.

I saw "Kendall Jenner is secretly dating Jordan Clarkson" on my Yahoo! page; I was stoked, then I realized it's April Fools.

She seems the most normal of that family at least.

Besides her last name I genuinely have no idea who that person is.

She's basically another Kardashian. I don't care who JC dates, it's his life, but I do find it a little strange that, if this is true, multiple Lakers can't seem to stay away from that family, and that that family seems to want to only date pro athletes and rappers. I'd be wary of the motives of people with reality tv shows to get stories for like them.

When I watch Clarkson at his young and not fully mature age yet I see an incredibly strong kid in a great athlete's body. He reminds me of Kobe in that he is working all the time on creating new moves and polishing all of them. It's impressive already how much of a success rate he has in getting to the hoop in a variety of ways including tricky. I see Kobe's work ethic with him in that area too. To some level at his own limitations.

Just on offense, and without as high flying and reckless an act, does he have a shot at D. Wade lite or better than Monta? Huge improvement offensively with where he is now over 1 year ago. Man I would hate not having him here watching him develop with DAR, Julius and Nance.

Fire Byron. Hire Luke. ASAP. This becomes a whole different ballgame. Luke with his contribution as acting head coach to this record breaking Warriors season would become a FA pull on its own. Then give us luck again with keeping our pick.

Clarkson is taking cues from 24... Randle too. The Kobe Effect.

Those rookie orientations the NBA puts the new players through should include a powerpoint on avoiding Kardashians.

I am a fan of JC. Hard worker, business-like appproach, what else can you ask for for late 2nd round pick. I do feel he will get a large contract this off season and this will lead to the lakers being stuck with a big contract that they will regret a few years from now. With the cap exploding the next few years I think there will be a bunch of overpayed players and teams trying to get rid of them.

We can't afford to let JC go. We have little to no talent on this roster outside of the young guys so we have to keep him one of our core pieces. If we can get a better player for him then maybe try and swing a trade. I don't see him getting max money. He's probably a terrific sixth man in best case scenario and that's okay. There's nothing wrong with that. Maybe if we get a real coach in here who can help him improve his defensive technique he can still be a quality starting SG in the league. Who knows.

Yikes was he exposed defensively last night. His quick feet offensively just don't translate defensively. What's up with that? He was in bad positions, beaten off the dribble, muscled up... Not good. He's rarely locked in defensively and while some of that is on Scott, I can't absolve Jordan of blame either. He's got to figure that side of the ball out if he's going to be a starter in the NBA. As it is, he's looking more like a 6th man who comes in and fires things up on the offensive end.

I completely agree. His projected role is important but that can be discussed later when we actually have enough talent to send him to the bench. He's our best player and starter for the foreseeable future.

Good game in the end, despite being abused on D early. He scored some key buckets late, he stepped up the D at the end, also gave his all for Kobe. How about those 2 dunks too, that 360 was sweet, and the 2 handed monster jam to finish the game, off a Kobe touchdown pass, awesome.
