Yeah, this is the first time I've started really questioning whether we screwed up by not taking Bumfights at #2.

Tony Parker broke the bro code in a MUCH worse way. I don't remember the Spurs trading him and I'm pretty sure they still signed free agents.

    Just sayin....

    Here's the real question.

Is there going to be a snichdevil icon for Russell like we had for Kobe on clublakers?

True but the difference is that media wise the Lakers are more "sexy" news than the Spurs can ever dream of...

It’s not going to be a deterrent for potential free-agents looking to sign with the Lakers, either. One prominent agent was asked about players now being scared off from playing with Russell. He laughed. “No,” he said. “The Lakers have money and they’re in L.A. That’s what players are interested in most.”

His fellow Lakers, then, can continue to shun Russell as much as they like. It’s not hard to imagine how bad the guy feels about the entire situation, and maybe his teammates are justified in spending the season’s final three weeks hammering home his regrets.

But it just doesn’t matter. Russell is not going anywhere. His teammates might not like him, but he is going to get a whole new crop by next year, anyway.

    One word: Popovich.

I don't think Russ deters free agents from coming here, but B0ron does, and Jim might if some people are to be believed.

    Both of them are wrong...

Nick cheated. Period. He's responsible for his actions
But that doesn't give D'Angelo the license to tape his teammate talking about it...our friends mess up we should be there to point them the right direction and pick them up.

This is where a calming voice like Dr. Buss is missing. Instead of the finger pointing and blaming and the outcasting of Russell that is going on right now , Dr. Buss would bring the boys together in a room and ask them to act self less from here on out for the betterment of the team of the franchise.

So sick of this team man, seriously. From the top to bottom a big disfuntional, immature, selfish, self seeking group. Just when you thought this team couldn't dig any deeper. Ugh done

PS. I'd rather deal with Russell and his trust issues than Nick Young. Young's days are OVER. Notice in the article Lou Williams is the one that was shown as walking away from Russell? Cheaters dont prosper

Seriously? You expect players from other teams to get physical with him because of that?

Eh, Stephen Jackson also said on The Jump yesterday that B0ron has done all he can with this roster and stuff like the 48 point loss is all on the players. Something like "he can't be out on the floor playing too", in addition to coaching. Not sure who ever said to themselves, "hey, you know who would make a good NBA analyst? Stephen Jackson!". McGrady is way better on that show.

A lot of ill-advised testosterone flinging in this thread. Quite a bit of overreaction, too.

Another point worth addressing: The ESPN article (and they brought this up on PTI just now) mentioned there were trust issues with Russell prior to this. To me, that is nearly as alarming as this fiasco. This isn't coming from in game stuff or we would've picked up on it. Rather stuff from practice and being around Russell on the bus, in the plane, in the hotels. His teammates don't trust him, I don't know if it's because he's a rookie and they don't want to listen to someone who's wet behind the ears. But it's not a good sign.
