obviously, both are at fault. nick wouldn't be in this spot had he kept his word. that said, if we're making moral judgments about cheating...you're going to run out of athletes you like in a hurry. also, i'm not sure if the relationships between celebrities are always exactly the same as those between others. it's very easy not to cheat when you're not constantly bombarded by opportunities. i'm glad to have been faithful to my wife for a decade, and i'm pretty sure that will continue in perpetuity. but my situation is different, maybe as far down to my wife's expectations of me cheating (she expects me not to, of course--but i think some folks have more relaxed attitudes).

recording a buddy making an admission of personal guilt is far less normative, particularly in their population. people keep bringing up kobe/shaq, but man, that was totally different, imo. why record a private conversation? if it was a joke, why not immediately erase the recording?

nobody looks good here. and on the heels of the harassment allegations, it's particularly troubling. it's paining a picture of their time off the court that is wholly unflattering.

So wait, you lost all respect for Kobe 12 years ago in Colorado?

I think many of us lost all respect for Kobe as a husband. He might have gained some back after the fact, but I generally have a very low opinion of him on that ledger.

All of this is true, but lets not make it sound like Nick isn't in the wrong here and hope no damage is done to Nick's relationship with Iggy. Can't be cheating on your girl in the first place. Everything else said about this isn't a good look for Russ and the bro violation is 100% accurate. Can't be doing this Russ.

    Well that's fair.

By the way, I am not saying that Nick is innocent. Because he isn't. But filming a private conversation is just plain evil man. Why on earth would you secretly film something like that? What motives would you have, other than to completely humiliate that person? Its sickening. That's all I'm saying.

Your right, Nick isn't innocent either. And it's wrong. But I could see why any man (especially when women come flocking your way daily) would be tempted to have some fun with a bit of alcohol. Filming a private chat with my friend? That is something I can not even begin to comprehend. It's disgusting.

He tells Nick, "I'm glad you told my video all that" and starts laughing. So it wasn't really a secret to Nick or some way to humiliate him. He was just being stupid. No idea why he didn't delete it though. So he was doubly stupid.

Thanks for that detail. That makes it a lot better. I was starting to view this kid as having some evil and crooked personality. I guess he's just REALLY immature and stupid. That I can understand.

When I called this kid immature some people got mad at it, but is it any more clear? Shouldn't be videotaping that stuff first of all. Second of all, stop video taping your friends that's not funny. Third of all, why are you video taping? What good is going to come from that?

Nick cheating on his fiance/wife/what have you? Color me shocked.

Look, I don't care about these guys' personal lives. Almost all of them do this sort of thing whether we like or not. These men have women around constantly and while I don't condone their actions, it happens whether we want it to or not. Kobe, Worthy, Magic... Three of the biggest names in Laker history have a pretty openly sordid past. Those are just the three that pop into my head too.

This one isn't on Nick Young by the way. Sure his cheating is deplorable, but seriously why are you recording your friends like that??

You're absolutely right real. Now that it's affecting his teammate's personal lives, D'Angelo's immaturity is a legitimate concern moving forward.

Recording your friends saying incriminating stuff is pretty low. I don't know what Dlo was thinking with that.

What 20 year old isn't immature? Yes what he did was stupid, but he'll learn from it just like any 20 year old kid has too. D-Lo will be just fine.

I'm much more shocked at what Russ did here than Nick. I'm not excusing Nick, but I'm not the moral arbiter of the NBA or athlete's marriages. I don't even get why pro athletes get married, I just flat out assume they are all cheating. I kinda feel the same with movie stars and music stars. I'm not excusing Nick's cheating or saying it's ok, just that I'd be shocked if he wasn't doing it, and I wouldn't even be surprised if his wife does as well. Those relationships rarely work long-term, that's how that world works. I do not get recording a teammate saying personal stuff like that at all though. If you do it as a joke, laugh and then immediately delete that crap, you don't need to be leaking personal stuff, you don't work for TMZ, you're a teammate to the guy. This isn't a bro code thing, I don't even know what the bro code is, this is a privacy thing, Russ is not in the right here keeping vids like that on his phone. What's the point of saving that, blackmail later? There's no point.

    20,000 women / 365 days in a year = 54.79
    54.79 / 20 years = 2.74 women per day for 20 years

Da hell are you guys talking about? DAR told Nick he is recording him, and Nick was cool with it.

It's right there in the recording (there are two, or something). You can find it on LG in the relevant thread.
